PlatinumRead Just so...so bad
Inadvands Boring, over-political, tech fuzed mess
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
blanche-2 Psych star Maggie Lawson investigates "Killer Hair" in this 2009 TV movie based on the novel by Ellen Byerrum. Actually "Killer Hair" and "Hostile Makeover," which debuts June 28, are part of a series that Byerrum is writing (at least, I assume there will be more books) about a fashion columnist, Lacey Smithsonian, whose column is called Crimes of Fashion. In this one, a hairdresser named Angela has committed suicide, but Lacey's own hairdresser from the same salon, Stella (Sadie LeBlanc) thinks she was murdered. She asks Lacey to investigate. Stella is positive she was murdered, and so is Lacey, when they see poor Angela in her coffin - with a horrible haircut. This is a very enjoyable TV movie done on location (at least partly) in Washington, D.C. with a good cast that includes Mark Consuelos, Mario Cantone, Finola Hughes, and Sadie LeBlanc, who is very good as Stella. The young cast is vibrant and energetic, and the film made me want to read the book. Lawson is delightful here, as she is on Psych.Recommended - and a couple of notches above what you'll see on Lifetime or Lifetime Movie Network.
