n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

Raghav and Tapsee Pannu work in a TV channel where TRPs are going down. In order to get TRPs back, Tapsee Pannu take Raghav and other team members to a haunted place in order to prepare a scripted horror show. However after stumbling upon a mangalsutra during the shoot, mysterious things start happening with them and in some time, Raghav and Tapsee get possessed by revenge seeking souls. Are these ghosts able to seek revenge? Are these good or bad soul? Are these ghosts related in any way to Raghav and Tapsee and what happens to Raghav and Tapsee forms the rest of the story?
Movie is fast paced and laced with comedy, horror and thrilling moments all throughout. However once Tapsee gets possessed the movie goes to another level with fun and thrill quotient. The idea of climax is good but is shoddily done. Director and writer should have been more innovative with the climax. The two characters who play mothers of Raghav and Tapsee are too loud and spoils the party. Background music is good, camera works also good, However VFX could have been a lot better.
Raghav plays quintessential massy hero, a timid boy and possessed guy with aplomb. Tapsee did very well as a confident working girl, sweet loving girlfriend and girl possessed by an unhappy and unfulfilled soul. Nithya Menon who plays physically challenged girl was successful in evoking required strong emotions during various stages of her character.
Overall i would say it's a good commercial horror comedy which could have been better had they been more careful with VFX, Climax and those 2 loud characters mentioned above.

How many films in past has this much of hype before it's release? Not going into story line as it has been already discussed above in the page. Only Raghavendra Lawrence can deliver this much of slapstick and horror in a same movie, one of it's new kind in cinema (not a spoof). This movie will definitely tickles your bone for a unlimited laugh riot on the first half. Second half drags a bit and eventually in cinema halls everyone can feel that. Having a surprise and gripping flash back the director should have gone earlier in to the second half with that rather than few unwanted scenes. Apart from that screenplay and direction deserves more credit than what other critics comments on it. Performance: Raghavendra Lawrence with his comedy timing and dance move keep us entertained all through movie. Tapsee done a fair job comparing to her previous movies and it was bit shocking why south India didn't use her properly until today. Kovai Sarala deserves a national award for the comedy and body language that she played in the movie. Hope she one too. Sreeman deserves a big pat on his back, his body language & reactions is awesome. The Surprise package is Nithya Menon, her character in the movie will definitely move lot of people out there i cinema halls. She is the show stealer in the movie. Very first time she have acted this much locally which will raise many eyes. BGM is Good. Songs are sick. Graphics with available budget is OK. Camera was too fast in many portions. Watch it in theaters, trend setting movie and many to come from the same director. Don't Miss it.

If you are a commercial movie lover/don't see much logic in movies, just want to pass time without much boring, then this is one of the movies for u.But for the other category - movie lovers - its not worth the money but its not boring to the core either.Coming to the point.. though they are few, there are some pros.Taapsee Pannu - big plus having such a performing glamorous artist than just being a glamorous doll. She performed quiet well as a possessed one. She did more than a normal heroine because she was given the space.Nithya Menon - first time in a aggressive role. did pretty much OK. great learning experience for her and she is the one to lookout for in near future. At some parts, BGM really did the trick but only at very few parts.Don't want to go into cons as there are many. VFX, logical plot holes (many) etc.. except the intro song and child song, nothing else works out.Overall - if you are really afraid of possession, really anxious to see horror-com movies, then go for it. it wont bore you.It is surely a commercial success but for movie lovers/critics, please stay off it!!!Muni3 - treat for commercial movie lovers - B(partly) and C centers.Hope the next installment goes well among critics too.. coz if it goes well with critics, it will stand long.

Lawrence's Muni, released back in 2007 gave good ground for Horror-Comedies,a genre not so popular in Kollywood, which was followed by quite a good number of similar films that succeeded in ringing bells at the Kollywood Box-Office.The highly successful Kanchana released in 2011 saw the rise of a popular franchise in the name with Raghava Lawrence concreting his deftness as an accomplished actor, writer, dancer and director.Kanchana 2 is no exception from the previous films in the franchise and offers a decent mix of humor, horror, action, drama and sentiments utilizing an average screenplay written by Raghava himself. But in comparison with the previous parts,Kanchana 2 has a weaker storyline with the second half in particular being too lengthy and predictable, calling for a tighter screenplay which could have provided more impact especially while presenting the typical flash back sequence which looked jaded and carelessly narrated except for a beautiful melody between the lead pair. Many sequences post the interval were loud and over the top,in a way decreasing the eagerness of viewers in the proceedings. The over-stretched climax fight which utilized generous amounts of VFX didn't make much impact on screen.Luckily, the storyline that stuffs slapstick humor inside routine horror backdrop, with its share of flaws, manages to keep the audience hooked till the end by the virtue of hilarious comedy sequences lead by Kovai Sarala, some good performances, peppy and well-choreographed songs, adequate doze of action and few notable horror sequences.Performancewise,Raghava Lawrence was pretty impressive and gave a really energetic performance with controlled emotions showcasing his versatility in handling different characters.Kovai Sarala was hilarious and tickled the fun bones with her hilarious one-liners.Taapsee was impressive and gave a matured performance.Nithya Menen did her part well even-though her character was half-baked.Among others Mayilsami,Sriman etc were good and supported the leads well.Songs by Thaman,Leon James,Sathya and Ashwamithra were pretty impressive and all the songs can boast of excellent choreography by Lawrence alike his films from the past.Cinematography by Rajavel Olhiveeran was good and editing by Late Kishore T.E was OK.Overall,Kanchana 2 is a typical horror-comedy without much freshness in the storyline targeted at the mass audience.Verdict::Kanchana 2 replicates the formula from previous films in the Muni franchise giving rise to a pretty average screenplay without any freshness to point out.Even=though clichéd big-time this Lawrence film is successful in providing satisfactory thrills to call it a decent one-time-watch for the masses looking for just fun and entertainment.Watch it if you are a fan of the series.
