Reviews
KnotMissPriceless Why so much hype?
FrogGlace In other words, this film is a surreal ride.
Kirandeep Yoder The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
visiblyvillainous I saw this movie twice in theaters. It's a gut wrenching film that will have you laughing, crying, and thinking deeply about many things.Justin Chon's debut as a director here really shines and I'm hopeful for the new things he'll be putting out in the future.Don't listen to the hateful reviews here because they're angry that there's no white people in it for once. Hollywood and the general public love to hate diversity. See how they hated the new Star Trek because there weren't enough white faces. They'll gaslight minorities into fighting each other just like how they're bringing up isolated incidents like Latasha while ignoring the systemic and pervasive daggers behind our backs.See this movie for what it is and the story it tells. A tale of two brothers and their interactions with new friends and the incidents and fallout of 1992 Rodney King.
nobilisbellator Suffering and misery is so intense and present throughout the film that it chokes you up. And it intensifies with every minute to eventually climax in a heartbreaking final. Well done. This touched me deeply.
chemothephoenixcat Justin Chon amazing stuff man. David So amazing actor hope to see a lot more of you guys. Brilliant movie about a turbulent time, you have brought to light the Korean shop owner plight during that period. I don't understand the critics who are willing to drop below nine out of ten, possibly never watched the same film!! Well done arguably the best film of 2017.. thank you
samf2006 I have never went from loving a film to literally hating it overnight, the film GOOK is a well made piece of art that I actually really enjoyed, but upon during further research on the LA uprising I came across something really disturbing ,a little black 15 year old girl named Latasha Harlins. Learning about this little girl and how what happened to her was part of what was leading to the Uprisings, it gave me a new perspective On the film GOOK.
