Reviews
Hellen I like the storyline of this show,it attract me so much
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
Orla Zuniga It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
imdb-10851 I saw this film in Zurich circa 1989. A guy I worked with was friends with the actors - they all went to the same school in Zurich.Basically, this is a film about unfulfilled homosexual fantasies. I'll leave it up to you to decide whose fantasies we're talking about. As I recall, the movie went something like this:- Two boys, somewhere in the good ol' US of A get involved in a robbery. One gets shot, and as he's dying, he sees a poster of tourism billboard advertising Switzerland - all green hills, mountains and pretty little chalets. Just before he carks it, he asks his friend to get him there. He dies, and his friend decides to go anyway.Upon arrival, he basically (amazingly?) ends up at the place as seen in the billboard. He befriends a boy that lives there, and the movie descends rapidly from there. I'm not homophobic (my boyfriend is), but the acting is kinda amateur and the plot nonsensical. In the final scene, they're filmed through a blue filter running around topless among some Greek ruins. We're supposed to believe that these boys are the twin stars of Gemini that find each other after being separated. Hmmm.... Frankly, I didn't buy it.There it is. I'm sorry, but this is a complete waste of celluloid.
Erwino Ouwerkerk The honest acting of Thomas Nock combined with the very awful, emotionless acting of Gene Patrick got me very angry. For what reason has this movie been made? Who was so stupid to pay the money to produce this? Has the director been sleeping during all the takes? The story on the cover of the DVD has lied to me. It spoke of "true friendship based on adventure, romance and danger." However, nowhere in the movie it comes to romance (Patrick kissed a girl without any feelings of passion or love, lust maybe, but certainly not any romance). Never there is adventure or danger. And because Patrick never showed any affection for Nock, neither was there any friendship in the movie. It was about....nothing. The only reason I watched this movie till the end, were the good looks of Thomas Nock. And that's also the only reason why I gave the movie 1 point (out of 10).
PsychoOakey This movie, written by director Sandoz as well, tells the story of young Matthew, who gets involved in a drug-related shooting in New York and subsequently heads for Switzerland to hide from the police. In Geneva, he meets Maria-Helena, wife of a famous politician, who gives him food and shelter (and has a sort of affair with him). Haunted by the police in Geneva, Matthew takes the bus to the country. Here, he meets Thomas, son of a farmer in the mountains, and the two become close friends. Eventually, the two end up in Geneva again with Maria-Helena for a finale.Although the film is not a total bomb, it is certainly not good either. As the story develops, the lack of character (in combination with the mediocre acting skills of Thomas Nock) is a serious problem. Cinematography, however, somewhat makes up for this, although the overall story suffers from many gaps (not to mention the over-the-top finale).
Jaques Sandoz GEMINI, THE TWIN STARS is the story of a star-crossed friendship which springs up when a young man's flight from danger crosses another man's quest for adventure. Traveling from New York to Geneva, from Swiss mountain peaks to remote Greek islands, the film is an exciting romantic advent
