Reviews
Supelice Dreadfully Boring
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
Janis One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
Billy Ollie Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable
douglas lally First, anytime a film's tagline includes the five words "based on a true story" prepare for anything but the truth. This film is loosely connected to the real John Wayne Gacy and his rampant mid 1970's murder spree. However the story bears little resemblance to the actual events nor does it deliver an accurate portrayal of Gacy. In essence, most of the script is fictional. Once I accepted that then I had to accept a story line and direction style that I found quite frustrating. The tale sort of jumps around and introduces plot points, people, and events, that don't have any explanation or get fleshed out. These things just come and go throughout the film. It didn't seem to have flavor or focus, if I had to pick a word to describe this viewing experience it would be flat. There's not a lot of scary moments, thrilling moments, highs or lows, it's just sort of bland. I will say Mark Holton was believably creepy and disgusting in the title role. Otherwise this film serves no purpose historically, artistically, or otherwise. It just makes you want to take a shower after watching it.
dylansanderson96 I decided to give this movie a whirl, only because I had just recently learned about John Gacy, a real 30 person serial killer from the 1970's. Bad idea. The film seems to glorify the excessive amount of bugs under Gacy's house, rather than any sort of character development or plot movement. To my surprise, this movie even lacked a gruesome murder scene. The only violent part was Gacy thrusting a person's head in the water. The whole time it rambles on about Gacy taking a kid and putting him in his little house den, then the next kid, then the next kid, (x15). Seemingly no attempt was made by Saunders to engage, or attach the viewers to the characters; leaving this movie tough to watch for the wrong reason.
daworldismine gacy is a movie that come out right in the serial killer boom of the early noughties following 'ed gein' 'ted bundy' 'dahmer' 'monster', but for some reason gacy wasen't as well received by the critics, hence the score on here, but i jus cannot see why, because it was a great movie, with a good story and a briilliant performance by the lead, there is very little blood, and murder here, and thats probably why some people didn't like it, but i thought it was done good, not really seeing anything graphic about what he did, it was a lot scarier how he was such a well respected member of society, and such a friendly man in the day, but such a monster at night. some people moan about certain liberties took with the story, but any 'true story' movie does it, so what's the problem, this is a good solid movie based on monster, i recommend
MattyBoosh This film is the most boring horror film ever made! Im currently still watching it and he hasn't killed anyone yet 49 Min's in..........I DEMAND BLOOD. First things first the acting in this film is pretty lame by the twins (when you watch it you'll understand) but the guy who plays john Wayne gacy is brilliant seems nice but is a nut job! This may be based on true events but who gives a hoot the guy got killed a while back so we are pretty safe....i think! this film doesn't scare me one bit its just poor poor film avoid if you value your mind! if you like watching boring films though be my guest and watch. Let me know what you think of it because i want to know if i'm the only dude that doesn't like this film
