I saw this movie before reading any reviews, and I thought it was very funny. I was very surprised to see the overwhelmingly negative reviews this film received from critics.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

Worth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.

WTF.. WOW WOW WOW. okay here goes started watching this with my daughter, who's 15,last week. Ten minutes in she decided to turn it off as she found it boring. Fast forward to today, off work sick and I thought I'd give it another shot. Quite simply the possibilities of childhood mingling with adult permissions add a dash of some left field imagination and humour... Bingo. Watch watch watch.

The best thing about this movie is the sets. They are insane! But the movie itself is not that good and is not really a horror movie, it's more of a comedy. The main problem with it was the characters talking like hipsters all the time. I actually used to hang out with a group of friends who would have loved this... and I can already bet they've seen it five times already. AT LEAST!But not a 2 or 3 like other reviewers are saying. The set design alone is worth a 5. If you are hipster watch it, if not, you may not like it.

I had been looking forward to "Dave Made a Maze" since seeing its trailer. It looked like a quirky modern version of Cube and Labyrinth, two of my favorite films. It starts off decently enough. The plot and the maze itself are intriguing. I also liked some of its quirkiness and humor. Unfortunately, the film gradually unravels. The story, characters, and dialogue are underdeveloped. Despite only being 80 minutes long, by the third act I was patiently waiting for the film to end. For me, the climax and conclusion didn't come together in a compelling way. It is unfortunate, With a bit more development it could have been something of a cult classic or hidden gem.

Watching Dave Made a Maze was a blast :) The film has a simple yet clever premise, which allows the set design(the maze itself) to take the main role and to amuse the audience. I loved the cardboard art(the style kinda reminded me of the awesome 'otherside' clip by RHCP) and found myself sucked into each new chamber explored. The film as a hole does not take it self seriously at all and that is a huge plus. It really makes the corkiness and the nonsense shine. Also, I felt that the short length of the film fit perfectly to the given premise. Finally, the dialogue had some funny punches, but for the most part just drove us onward into the well crafted maze(and did a pretty solid job at it), yet I would like to point out that there is one monologue in the middle that I would not easily forget. Adding a lot of depth to the craziness.I hope to see more from the film makers. Highly recommended!
