Reviews
WasAnnon Slow pace in the most part of the movie.
Contentar Best movie of this year hands down!
TaryBiggBall It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
Allison Davies The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.
Bob Jim It was definitely a fun movie. The geezers were really funny, the "crew" had an interesting dynamics and each character is really well thought and distinct. No character is like another. I don't see why it got such a low score honestly. And I had declared the female hostage as my waifu. (If you watch it you'll get why) Only one character wasn't really needed nor was it funny. (I'll explain on the "cons")Pros: It's funny most of the times. Cool action scenes. Fun & Distinct characters.Cons: Slow pacing at the beginning. Quite gory, even when they don't need to. The weird chubby robber-guy who effed up his robbery hence getting caught. He added nothing and I found the interactions he had with other characters cringe-worthy.
stevehoyland I find the negative comments about this Movie a little difficult to understand - It Is what It Is, an entertaining little Gem, full of hilarious one-liners and humorous situations. The action Is almost constant and consequently Is never boring In the slightest as each scene moves quickly on to the next. A superb effort for an Independent Movie on a limited budget. A pair of dysfunctional brothers and a few equally dysfunctional friends and acquaintances go off to rob a bank just as a Zombie outbreak Is beginning In the East-end of London. The brothers' Grandad Is In a local care-home and he and his elderly friends have locked-down the home In an effort to defend themselves. The brothers decide to go and rescue them. It's pretty much non-stop from beginning to end and gives good value for money although It might not be the kind of Movie beloved by our American friends - much of the humour will go straight over their heads. Unless you're someone who for some reason dislikes both Zombie films and comedies, then this will entertain you and leave you with a smile on your face. It also answers the age-old question:- Can a Zimmer-frame using elderly person out-run the average Zombie? Not the kind of Film to watch again and again, perhaps, but well worth seeing.
begob Americans don't get irony? Sorry, Englanders - so much irony it comes out your arse in a watery rush. This is the anti-comedy. Badly written/directed/shot/edited. And it's drawn out, with zero scares and hahaha laughs. Plenty of good actors. They got Michelle Ryan, so there had to be a long, slow close up on her amazing face. No chance. Really was the weirdest day of her life. Everything else inferior, and comparison to the classic Shaun is stupid. The IMDb reviews for this are perverse. Or maybe they're recruiting for UKIP?
tenderitis As long as you go in for a simple laugh, you won't be disappointed. A masterpiece this is not, but 90 minutes of entertaining, low-speed Brit zombie humor it is. The acting was decent all around, and Mr. Ford was wonderful as I'd expect. While entertaining, the slow, deliberate pace of the movie and the lack of any major climax left me wanting a bit more. If one were to compare the overall feel to Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels, I'd say CvsZ doesn't come close in terms of pace, climax, ending or satisfaction. I'm glad I watched it and loved the humor but I caution anyone who intends to see it to go in with medium-to-low expectations and you will have a good time. The movie doesn't take itself seriously and you shouldn't either. It's just fun, don't try to get anymore out of it.
