Payno I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Philippa All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.
tomaso-05968 I know that a lot of people dislike this film, but i LOVED it. I know that you'll disagree, but let me tell you why I like it:I have fond memories of this film as a younger kid and I loved watching it every time. And I like the morals of each story:Cinderella's Story: Be who YOU are, not someone else. Don't let others tell you you cannot be yourself.Jaq's story: You should be proud of who you are, not what you are. You're helpful in your own way.Anastasia's story: People can change for the better. Some will, some won't. Say what you say, but I still love it. What I liked: -Mary Mouse. I found it nice how they added a main FEMALE mouse. And I ship Jaq and Mary so much. -Jaq stopping the elephant. Jaq's bravest hour. And the elephant flinging the king into the air and onto the Ferris Wheel still has me laughing every time. Disagree if you want, but his response after the whole ordeal is priceless. The guy was on a wild ride on a rampaging elephant and all he can say is how he can see his castle. -Jaq/Sir Hugh accidentally scaring Gus, Mary, and the mice. That still has me howling every time. -Jaq and Mary's kiss(es). So cute. -Grand Duke and Prudence scaring the king from his nap. The way he falls over in reaction is good for a chuckle. Anastasia and the baker. It's nice how Anastasia decides to be with someone who isn't rich, but does have a nice heart. What I disliked: -Not enough screen time for Prince Charming. It just would've been nice, that's all. That's all I can pretty much say. I know a bunch of you may dislike it, but I love it. It gives me lots of sweet, laughable, and touching memories, and good sequel in my heart. Hate me if you will, but like the last one, I give this a 10/10.
Hermione Granger This is the worst Disney sequel of all times, and that is really bad. Almost all sequels of Disney's are bad, and the worst is really bad. This is a collection of short stories that happen after Cinderella arrives at the castle. Cinderella still has the same personality, but she doesn't always look or sound the same, and there are super lame plots, such a something to do with a tradition of... plum pudding? It's not good enough to remember! Honestly, the person on the back of the movie who said it lives up the classic and touch of the original had to be lying or have been hired. This is lacking and poor. I can't believe this is Disney. If you want a good sequel, go with Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time, or Return to Neverland. This stinks and leaves a bad mark in my mind.
Taylor Chesney Of course, the original is better, but this isn't as bad as everyone says! Yes, it is made up into 3 stories, but hey, so what?! I thought it was quite good to be honest. I actually liked how Anastasia changed a little when she fell in love, it shows what love can do. The stories were not so bad either.I liked Cinderella's voice better in this too. I have nothing against her voice in the original, but I just think it sounds better here, more nicer. I liked her personality in this too, she had more of a backbone, yet she was still kind. So, I'll give Cinderella II:Dreams Come True a 7/10.
EmeraldMaz I grew up watching the original Disney Cinderella, and have always loved it so much that the tape is a little worn.Accordingly, I was excited to see that Cinderella 2 was coming on TV and I would be able to see it.I should have known better. This movie joins the club of movie sequels that should have just been left alone. It holds absolutely NONE of the originals super charm! It seems, to me, quite rough, and almost brutal, right from the (don't)Sing-a-longs to the characterization. While I remember the character's telling a story through a song, this film's soundtrack was laid over the top, and didn't seem to fit. Jaq's transformation into a human is a prime example: Where he was walking around eating an apple and adding a few little quips in here and there, he should have been dancing around and singing about how great it was to be tall! And in the ballroom, there's old barn dance type country music. It's as though the writers forgot where and when this story was set. The upbeat fiddles certainly didn't fit.Even the artwork and animation in Cinderella 2 isn't up to scratch with the original. The artwork in this film seems quite raw and less detailed. And we see part of Cinderella's hoop skirt, which doesn't feel right. The movie itself could have been it's own story, I think that it should have been just that. I wouldn't say that I hate it, but I believe that it had many shortcomings. It seems to downgrade in a significant way from the beloved Cinderella original.
