Cheats Trailers

While other kids buy into countless hours of studying just so they can get a mark in some teacher's report book, Handsome Davis sees it as nothing more than a system of control over your mind. That's why Handsome and his three best friends Sammy, Victor and the cribsheet genius Applebee have banded together and found ways to cheat on their tests all through their school years.

Reviews
Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Raymond Sierra The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Darin One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.
wes-connors Andrew Gurland's "Cheats" is his fictionalized "true story" about four high school friends who maneuver to cheat on tests. The quartet are: supercilious school-hating Trevor Fehrman (as Handsome Davis), his likewise good-looking pal Matthew Lawrence (as Victor), their chubby school-hating chum Elden Henson (as Sammy), and crooked geekster Martin Starr (as Applebee). The adults include high-strung North Point principal Mary Tyler Moore (as Mrs. Stark) and pornography-loving father Griffin Dunne (as Mr. Davis). The high jinks begin with Mr. Fehrman and Mr. Lawrence supposedly urinating on a teacher's grade book. Put this one at the bottom of the pile; and, be thankful it doesn't go on anyone's permanent record.*** Cheats (2002) Andrew Gurland ~ Trevor Fehrman, Matthew Lawrence, Elden Henson
josh-simpson Cheats is one of those rare movies that actually captures what its like to be a teenager and not only a teenager, one with real problems. This movie is obviously a comedy and i found it truly hilarious, but the characters and their lives were real. The main character comes from a broken family and his father is a pervert, the other characters have their own personal struggles with acceptance, self confidence, and self value. Most of the movies and shows about high school focus 100% on relationships and getting drunk. This movie is on the level of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and thats a big deal. The movie has great young actors that play their roles the right way, and a great supporting role from Mary Tyler Moore. Overall this movie is one of my all time favorites and i am saddened that it gets continuously looked over.
Mr_Sensitive I like teen movies, and after having watch most of it, i hate to say that i found this movie to be quite slow and boring. The movie is pretty OK but somehow I find it to be one of the most boring teen movie I have ever seen. Don't get me wrong - there is some scene that is good and very funny but most of the time it is too slow. The casting and acting of all the actors are good and pretty convincing which make this movie watch able and somewhat enjoyable. There are load of movies about 'cheating'and this is one of them. If you want to watch i would rather advised you to watch "Cheaters - Drama" and if "comedy - The Perfect Score" Rating:6/10
Dan Four guys band together to defy high school authority and cheat their way through, avoiding work at all costs. They use charm when possible, and threats and intimidation where needed, to coerce their co-students to do the work for them. The hero assures us at the end of the movie that he didn't need to cheat, he only did it because it felt "sweet."Outwardly, this movie is "Ferris Bueller" with all of the charm and irony removed. But the ending in its pointlessness is a fitting tribute to all those teen-angst movies from the 80's like "Breakfast Club." Last lines: "Everything is baloney."* "It is what it is." Those two lines summarize this movie perfectly. It is not difficult to see why this movie was denied a theatrical release. Talky and argumentative, it lacks teen appeal because it isn't built around race cars and gross-out gags, but few adults would buy into the story. This is one of those "off-beat" Hollywood scripts that spun out of control. Usually, they are forgotten, or if they're filmed, the studios make sure the "teen appeal" factor is written in. Somehow, this one slipped by. When such a script slips by, it can mean the creation of a minor masterpiece, like "Ferris." But the kernel of the story here is the opposite of "Ferris": mean-spirited, selfish, boastful and cruel. No one comes to a new realization about themselves; the hero ends the movie metaphorically whizzing on all of the same things he's been whizzing on all his life. One feels a sense of pity for his future wife and children.*Note: "Baloney" was used in then broadcast version; it was clearly overdubbed.
