Reviews
Tockinit not horrible nor great
Plustown A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
BelSports This is a coming of age storyline that you've seen in one form or another for decades. It takes a truly unique voice to make yet another one worth watching.
Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
MikeC19 I wasn't terribly interested in seeing this movie, but took myself anyway because I like Christopher Lloyd and Kristen Schaal. Well, I have to tell you, I was really surprised that this movie was so good! I walked out thinking, "This was really good!" Here's my opinion:The Good: The characters were enjoyable, there was plenty of humor, and the drama wasn't too heavy. I think Vera Farmiga did a fantastic job, and as someone that's never really enjoyed her work, I certainly did, here! You can identify with her character, even though she's a little strict. You can at least see where she's coming from. She loosens up, along the way, too. Christopher Plummer is a very enjoyable screen presence, as well. His character kind of keeps you guessing with what he's thinking and going to do. Is he the nicest character in screen history? No. But you like him anyway. It made me want to seek out other movies with him. I love the dogs, too! So many different types, and they just make you smile! :)The Bad: I found the son to be a bit annoying, frankly. He's just kind of along for the ride, acting mopey. I didn't really care what happened to him. (Though he did make me laugh at least once.) Also, Bobby Cannavale doesn't really seem to fit in here well. He always plays the same type of character, and he acts the same way in most movies. (So I guess I'm not a fan.) Overall, though: This movie is light enough, and most of the characters are fun to watch. This type of movie always seems to get overshadowed by bigger movies, but the people that do go to this have a great time! I really enjoyed myself. I give: 8/10
jessegrodgers I really wanted to like this movie because Vera Farmiga is fricken hot. But I could not like this thing . I mean how long can you talk about an adult diaper being full in a movie . Also did not find it fun to have a plot making fun of mental illness in it . Also a driving heartfelt movie , yep you guessed it ran out of gas... How many times has that plot point been used. This movie is by far very predictable , poorly written and plan junk . I mean bad grandpa was a better cross country movie and that is saying something . Can I get my $8 back for the ticket . I knew I should have stayed home .
greenwagonlilly Christopher Plummer is always wizard, forever and ever. I like Vera Farmiga, although I don't think this script used her as well as some of her other recent work. But Joey just seemed way too much like he was a child rapist, so idk. Maybe skip this one.
dossiedoe Someone had to be on drugs in order to finance this crapass movie. Wait till TNT starts playing. Don't waste your money.
