When a famous Bollywood actor visits a small village for a film's shoot, a poor hairdresser's claim that they were once childhood friends soon makes him the centre of attention.

Reviews
StunnaKrypto Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.
Ensofter Overrated and overhyped
Casey Duggan It’s sentimental, ridiculously long and only occasionally funny
Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
raggzycj I love this movie! It is so beautiful and amazing. The character development is believable and it allows the audience to go through all the stages of the protagonist's life. It creates a strong bond between the viewer and the characters, so whenever the protagonist goes through something difficult or wonderful you can really feel it. The acting is really good, and the plus is there is a lot of singing and dancing (as this is a bollywood movie) and it just makes you in a good mood. The whole struggle of two best friends drifting apart is very relatable, and I think most people have found themselves in that situation at some point in time. The point however is to never give up on someone you love, no matter what. This movie has comedy, romance, singing and dancing, what more can you ask for? I recommend this movie to everyone who like bollywood movies, or who would like to start watching them. It is one of my all-time favourite movies!
chapsmack Billu succeeds in maintaining the primary storyline of the movie throughout. But it does feel dragged and could have probably benefited by introduction of a few more characters and taking some unintended characters out. The cop playing his dialogues out was far from entertaining. And having to see Billu making a go/no-go decision is kind of tiresome if it continues with every frame. The movie does have a few pluses with Irfan giving a pretty good performance, and Lara Dutta not overdoing her role and the scenes between the parents and their children. SRK is his usual self as was demanded by the role - on a caffeine high. 6/10.
hippy_kizzy The storyline did have potential, i thought that it could have been a good watch. I don't have anything against the actors, and thought that Irfan Khan and Lara Dutta were pretty amazing in this film as a down to earth, honest couple. I was very impressed with them both, who are talented anyway. But the scene with the guest house manager... that character was not needed, and like most people have said, was NOT funny but really just a pain after the first five minutes. Om Puri wasn't funny in this film, Rajpal Yadav, bless him, was his usual annoying self. I thought that it took far too long to get into any sort of real story, which was a shame because the actors were good! I love SRK, biggest fan ever, but he did really play himself in this, and he really was not needed to act in the first half of the film, which wasn't his fault. Still, i would never complain of TV time where SRK is there! So the 4 out of 10 would be for the great Irfan Khan, Lara Dutta, some of the good item songs which were overdone but were worth it, and of course, Shahrukh Khan because as mainstream as he is, you cant fault the guy really.
mpithapurwala This movie is absolutely terrible. Priyadarshan seems to have lost his touch. I can't believe this is the same director who made movies like Hera Pheri. The idea of the movie is quite novel. But the problem is the execution. The movie is super-slow. The same things keep repeatedly, until you are too bored to yawn !! The movie really needed much slicker editing. There are some light moments. Some joes actually do feel funny. However it is like a diamond in coal mine. Believe me spare yourself the torture and spend the 2 hours some place better !
