I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

While a 7.2 out of 10 does seem fair, I'd say it deserves slightly higher. Now why do I think this is the most criminally underappreciated pixar movie ever? Sure, it doesn't quite stack up to classics like The Incredibles (2004) or Finding Nemo (2003), which I love by the way, but it still got so much undeserved crap and hate just because it's all about anthrophomorphic cars. So what if the concept doesn't seem smart, what matters is the way it executes it's concept, which is what this movie did so well, it executed it's story about anthrophomorphic cars well. Sure, it might not be the most original, but like Coco (2017), it's the way that it told and executed itself to us that made it stand out from the rest. The animation is really nice, like the detail on each individual car and the scenery, the music by Randy Newman is unforgettable, (There's a reason it won the Annie Award for Best Music in an Animated Feature Production.) and the way the characters start to grow on you is what makes this film so loved. This definitely doesn't top Pixar's best, the Toy Story trilogy, which I also love by the way, but with Pixar being on strike since 2011, the only exceptions being Inside Out (2015) and Coco (2017), I love those two by the way, this is no longer the "Least Best" Pixar movie. There is of course it's rather unnecessary sequels and some of their weaker and less memorable stand-alones, (Brave (2012) and The Good Dinosaur (2015)) and despite what fans of it will say, this is more clever and far less forgettable than A Bug's Life (1998), which I also love by the way. And I'm definitely in the minority on this one, but I personally prefer this to WALL-E (2008), Up (2009), and Finding Dory (2016). BTW, I also love them. If only this film was't hated on so much, then people could see it's important themes and memorability that lie beneath it all. It's not just another silly kids movie, many adults love this too.
P.S., I still don't get why that stupid dancing penguin bulls*t they call Happy Feet won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature over this. Because while people are still buying and loving watching Cars to this day, after 12 whole years, no one gives a care about Happy Feet, which has found itself in the $5 bargain bin at Walmart.
P.S.S., On a similar note to the first P.S., Our Town should've won Best Original Song over I Need To Wake Up just because it's more memorable and more emotional.
P.S.S.S., (Last thing, don't worry) If you ask me, this film deserves close to the 7.3 to 7.8 range. So if you see this review, (It's unlikely since there's over 600 already published) please help me rase the rating.

Cars was the first ever movie i saw in cinemas. and i loved it, i am surprised that the movie only got a 7.1 because to me i would think it would be in the 8's with all the other classic movies like toy story, the lion king, inside out and the Incredibles. lightning McQueen is a character everyone knows, the movie shows that everyone looks up to him as the cool guy, but really his just some selfish guy with no friends. lighting gets shown the meaning of friendship. and gets shown good sportsmanship which you will see at the end of the movie

Wow! Pixer has done it again!. Im 16 and still love Cars I'm obsessed with it!. Its brilliant! The storyline gives a positive message and all the characters have great personality's. The animation and scenery is amazing especially route 66 the town the visuals of the racing etc.. and when Mcqueen and sally go for a drive. The voice actors are great in this film such as Paul Newman,Owen Wilson etc..Spoilers! So the story is about when a cocky rookie racer lightning McQueen 95 (Owen Wilson) is in the Piston cup. Mcqueen after the race ends up stranded in a town called Route 66. He meets Mater (Larry the cable guy. Doc Hudson (Paul Newman) and other fun characters like Sally (Bonnie Hunt) Ramone (Cheech Marin) Flo (Jennefer Lewis). Luigi and Guido (Tony Shaloub) (Quido quartroni) and other great Characters!. Not forgetting Chick Hicks McQueen's cocky rival (Micheal Keaton)I give this film a 10 out of 10 because its just great and i love how they get real racing cameos into the film such as Richard Petty The King 43, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Etc... If you know racing Nascar etc.. you would know. Also the tractor tipping sense is so funny! And maters puns etc... Paul Newman's acting is great! And some of the adult jokes! This film deserves a 10 out of 10! In my opinion its a fanstasic movie for kids and adults. Watch it! Its one of my favourites!

Cars is an animated film produced by Pixar, and a great, and kind of underrated one as well. The Bad: NothingThe Good: 1. Great characters like Lightning McQueen, who transforms as a character. There are also good characters that conserve their qualities rather than transform, like Belle from Beauty and the Beast, for example. My view is that when it comes to characters that transform and conserve, get the best of both worlds, because transformation and conservation are interdependent opposing forces. There are also likable characters in this movie like Mater, who is funny, Chick Hicks, who is hilarious because he is like a toned down version of Trey Parker characters, which I can't stand and I especially hate Eric Cartman, who is an especially annoying character, Chick Hicks is an arrogant character in a reasonably over-the-top way without being annoying. 2. The animation is beautifully colourful. 3. The voice acting comprising of Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen, Michael Keaton as Chick Hicks, Larry the Cable Guy as Mater, Bonnie Hunt as Sally Carrera, Paul Newman as Doc Hudson, Richard Petty as The King, Tony Shalhoub as Luigi, Cheech Marin as Ramone, Jenifer Lewis as Flo, George Carlin as Filmore, Michael Wallis as The Sheriff, Guido Quaroni as Guido, Paul Dooley as Sarge, Katherine Helmond as Lizzie, John Ratzenberger as Mack, Joe Ranft as Red and Jeremy Piven as Harv, is superb. The English language complements it by adding a necessary balance to the acting itself, because the English language plays a vital role to Pixar films, and a balance between the two makes a great American film, does not matter if it is live action or animation. 5. The story is fairly simple, but it is an effective one nonetheless.Cars is a fantastic and underrated animated film courtesy of Pixar, which definitely deserve a reputation for excellence in American animation, alongside Walt Disney Animation Studios.
