CommentsXp Best movie ever!
Joanna Mccarty Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
Derry Herrera Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
epsilonv I normally don't write reviews unless I see something so woefully under-rated and I loved it or conversely something over-rated and I absolutely hate it. I thought this movie was possibly Schwarzenegger's best acting performance, which many other reviewers have commented on. I always prefer plots based on real life events, as this one was, that deal with real life situations. This tragedy was interesting to watch, well played by the cast and I would recommend it to anyone.
edward-05254 I should say from the start that it was gratifying to watch the depth of Arnold's performance... he plumbed down deeper than I've ever seen him emotionally. That having been said, the plot was mediocre and virtually every character lacked credibility. I had a very difficult time believing that these people would behave this way under these circumstances especially at certain key points in the story. I felt like I was watching cartoon characters from a rather disappointing graphic novel. If there was any takeaway, it came far too late in my tedious journey and seemed like an afterthought.
Alexander_Blanchett It had a good and promising concept and the first two thirds of the film were really good and intriguing. Arnold Schwarzenegger proved that with the right material he can actually act as he delivered quite a decent performance here, one that works more than just on one note. I think he tried out for an Oscar with that role. I did not like Scoot McNairy and thought he gave an unconvincing and bad performance. Maggie Grace was okay with what she was given to. The direction was fine but a bit monotonic. The screenplay was fine. All of that until the last third, or 15 minutes in particular when the film totally turned its direction and went all over the place. All the motivations were thrown away and it became very unbelievable, technically and morally. A real shame, as it really could have been a solid character drama with many good values. Oh and its one of the prime examples of really bad and misleading marketing.
mgra1950 I watched this movie not knowing what to expect, as I have always loved Arnie for years kicking butt. This is a movie of pure empathy and grief following the death of Arnie's wife and son in a tragic plane accident. This movie was too close to home for me as my thirteen year old daughter was hit by a car seventeen years ago while walking home with her girlfriend and killed instantly. The feelings of Arnold's character throughout the trauma and grief of the accident paralleled mine closely. Dealing with such a tragic loss is hard on anybody losing a family member and this movies brought out all the feelings in the characters involved in the airplane crash. This would be very close to Arnold's best performance and I have seen and loved all of his movies. There is a soft and human side to Arnold that we have never seen in a movie before, showing his versatility, compassion and grief. I would recommend this movie, to not only Arnold Schwarzenegger fans but to people who like "real life" disasters and how people can cope with the aftermath of such events.I hope to see more movies like this from Arnie in the future. Thanks Arnie for the entertainment.
