Good start, but then it gets ruined

Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.

I am loving this show, I can't identify with any of the haters, (idiots) who post the same dumb review 3-4 times (Trolls). Just give it a full season and you will be hooked.

I went in this expecting it to be cheesy and cheaply made since it airs on Syfy. I was wrong. Completely wrong. While it's has several twists and turns and you have to remember small characters because they come back to be important roles in their journeys- the show is constant and never feels like a wasted episode like the over-scripted/plotted TV shows now. Not only is this show about magic, but it's about finding yourself and growing up. You have to peel away the meaning behind some things, but it's worth it.

If you had a few weeks to live and Harry Potter was the best thing in your life, i would still give this a miss. Its just a carbon copy but with Americanisation plastered all over it. Worse its a Canadian show...im so disappointed in my Canadian brothers, I thought Canadians had better class and intelligence. Usually they do and only Americans like absolute drivel like this without any intelligence to scripts, drama, scenarios and the like. Honest, you might like this if you are a teenage feck-wit who has never read any books or developed your mind...and unfortunately im sure there is a big demand for such shows thanks to the dumbing down of mankind by Rupert Murdoch, but I for one dislike this in the most polite of terms.

Low budget, its have sometimes great writing.
truly the actors are not that proficient or likable in story.
still, its a decent fantasy show at times and they are rare!
for that reason, i watch it anyway.
thanks.
