brilliant actors, brilliant editing

It's one of the most original films you'll likely see all year, which, depending on your threshold for certifiably crazy storylines, could be a rewarding experience or one that frustrates you.

While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

It's a movie as timely as it is provocative and amazingly, for much of its running time, it is weirdly funny.

The only reason I can think of for this show being really bland and tiresome is the writers have no imagination.

It is difficult to believe that this show is written by professional writers. The scripts are terrible; the actors are terrible; everything about it is horrible. Truly pathetic. I would expect such drivel from US network TV, but it is very disappointing that Canadian fare is so bad.

I began to watch this show because I was in a show-hole. So, I found this show and decided to give it a try. Good points: - Lighthearted tone. - Beautiful city. - The Celtic rock music.Bad points: - awful acting. They try hard but... I think the worst is the main character. He is trying to be funny with a "Martin Riggs" vibe, failing miserably. The best is his father. - Cliché after cliché. All characters and situations are clichés. - Too bland and light. Shallow characters, not a bit of darkness, dark humor, gray tones. Too happy and colorful with very kind characters. - low budget looking - Not enough funny for a comedy, not enough exciting for a detective's show, not enough smart for a "smart private detective" show. - Uninteresting and boring stories.

This is a PI show about a father/son private investigator team and their young assistant. It's set in Nova Scotia, which is beautiful to behold. Most of the characters are good, although the assistant and the star, Jake (played by Allan Hawco), are a bit much. Sometimes I have to quit an episode part way through because the stupidity of one of them make it too implausible to watch. But as a Netflix user, there aren't many TV shows I like, so I keep coming back to it when I'm too tired to do anything but watch TV. The series went 6 seasons, so I guess it was popular. Allan Hawco is a pretty good actor, and I'm glad to see he's gone on to more serious roles. I do enjoy the Nova Scotia scenery.
