Winifred The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.

dkparent A wonderful Victorian era show that highlights many of the issues they had at the time, though some reviews I see do not understand this. It goes without saying that the show is not for everyone, I appreciates history, even when it is lightly played with inventions and such as Murdock does. This is a show that highlights Canadian values and has some deep underlying moral questions that will tug at your mind. You may not agree with all of the politics and religion that a few shows have but they are true to the time. I only wished people had the same decency that many of these characters have as it appears in this century we have lost many of those values.Regards to all those who review and enjoy.

bkoganbing I got my first exposure to Murdoch Mysteries in Toronto on a trip and I have to say it was an interesting show. Hopefully someone in the States will see fit to broadcast this on one of the channels in my cable package.Yannick Bisson who has done a few Canadian television series plays the title role of Detective Murdoch. This man is college educated and an expert at those new fangled ideas in criminal justice like forensic science. He seems light years ahead of his colleagues. But they just go with the flow the way Captain Stottlemyre did with Adrian Monk.I have to say it was an enjoyable hour well spent. I liked Bisson's characterization. Bring it to the States.

edonyle I really love this program and watch it all the time. The only problem I have is with the hair do's. The women look like they have rats nests on their heads. Julia Ogden is a beautiful woman but her hair looks terrible most of the time. I do wish they would change the hairdresser. I know the women of the era did not have such untidy hair, it was beautifully coiffed. The episodes are so interesting and do keep to the era which is wonderful. The people or actors are all very professional so making a very good show. Everything about the show, except the hair of the women, is fantastic and I do love the costumes. Someone has taken great pains to keep to the era.

sbmvv_2000 It is very rare that one can say that a television series is very nearly perfect.The Murdoch Mysteries is one such example. With excellent acting, interesting story lines, strong but not overly preachy social commentary and just enough nonsense and humour to make you laugh, the cast, crew and team that put this together have exceeded all my expectations.Running into its ninth season, I cannot think of an episode I did not like. Some I thought defied belief and sense but the humour, acting and general good nature of this series gets you through those spots.It's Steampunk combined with Sherlock Holmes and the Closer which means it is a lot of fun.
