Bessie Smyth Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
Stibbert When seeing this show you can't help thinking Miami Vice. It has very much in common and it's not trying to hide it. They've got inspiration from it and they obviously show references to Miami Vice. The pilot contains tons of references and a story similar to the pilot of Miami Vice. Never the less Fastlane is a show that can stand on it's own with good stories and good looks. However, if you're a fan of Miami Vice you probably won't like this.Fastlane follows the two undercover cops Deaqon 'Deaq' Hayes and Donovan 'Van' Ray. They are recruited to a "secret" branch of the police. They take down the lowest and highest criminals in LA with a new approach to law enforcement: "You don't drop cover, you never flash a badge. Everything we seize we keep. Everything we keep we use".The stories are OK. The are thrilling and the writing is not bad. They mix drama, comedy and action. Deaq and Van are two good characters. They are funny and goes well together. Of course this show has it's flaws. Some elements are really stupid and unrealistic and it drags the whole show down a bit. As for the two actors Peter Facinelli and Bill Bellamy they fits these roles good. Their performances are good and they manage to mix the funny part, the action part and the drama part very nicely. The editing for this show is quite out of the ordinary. First of all it's nicely shot. The pictures are good looking with nice lightning and composition. Then there is the editing. They use a lot of slow motion and have this weird switch back and forth from widescreen to 4:3 to several pictures at once. In any other series this would just look stupid, but on Fastlane it kind of works. This way of editing fits show and the way it's mixed with music it becomes a unique look and style for the show. However, they kind of overdo the whole fancy editing thing a bit. It's cool and all, but that cool it's not. All in all Fastlane can be OK. It's not the best on TV and it aims at younger people, but if you take it for what it is, just simple entertainment it can be an enjoyable show.
ctfunu Fast lane had some of the most accurate and realistic car scenes and chases ever. That's not hard to say because most TV shows and movies are plagued with Idiots who don't know anything about cars and assume the general public is clueless as well. This show was different and is well thought of by gear heads everywhere. Had it been aired on better nights and times it would still be on the air today. The actors were top notch. here it is 2005 and I can't go to any car associated functions with out the mention of this show. This show also tied many different types of people together. The partiers , The gamblers , The racers and the police. All these people were glued to the TV. It's really too bad someone goofed and let it die. Oh yeah that was the TV and Movie Idiot that plagued the rest of the car movies made. They must have been jealous
SonicStuart Fastlane was a really cool show because it was sort of like Miami Vice and Nash Bridges combined! Plus it can also be like "The Fast and the Furious" but in a TV-show. Also it has Tiffani Amber Thiessen from "Beverly Hills 90210" which makes this show good because she is a good actress and she is hot! The show is about two mismatched cops, the angry and bitter Van Ray (Peter Facinelli), and the brash Deaqon Hayes (Bill Bellamy), are forced to team up by a shady vixen police lieutenant, Billie Chambers (Tiffani-Amber Thiessen), into going undercover in the seedy side of Los Angeles in using a variety of police confiscated flashy cars, clothes, weapons and other items, kept in a large secret warehouse called the Candy Store, in order to nail various low-life's and rich and powerful criminals. This show premiered on FOX back in September of 2002 and the show was great and got good ratings but was canceled April 2003. The show was doing well but it was canceled because the show episodes were too expensive to produce which left the show on a cliffhanger! But why couldn't FOX afford to make more episodes of this show? This show should be brought back and it deserved more than 1 season! This show would make a great movie!User Rating: 9/10BOTTOM LINE: BUCKLE UP .... YOU'RE NOW IN THE FASTLANE!
jensen-ackles Just wanted the say that the show has just begun over here in Europe and I really love it !Peter F is really cute as Van Ray ! The other actors and characters are also great. The stories make me a little think about my favorite TV show 21 Jump Street so that's great !I'm sad to read there's only 22 episodes ! Even if we only saw 6 episodes till now I really enjoy that show every Friday night !Can't wait to be on next Friday to have a new episode !GREAT !!!
