Just so...so bad
Claysaba
Excellent, Without a doubt!!
Sexyloutak
Absolutely the worst movie.
FirstWitch
A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

I was looking forward to seeing Agatha after having gotten to know her and her friends through the many books that I've read. At least there was a clue in the "based on" description of this series but still I was not prepared for the radically modified characters. Agatha was never an attractive blond always a slightly overweight brunette. I don't fault the actors for my disappointment but I have no interest in watching any more of the series. I hope the Hamish McBeth series also by M. C. Beaton is cast more in line with the books' characters and animals.

M. C. Beaton wrote an enjoyable series, too bad the makers of this TV series didn't read any of them. The stories work because of the original characters. What ended up on TV is a cookbook fill in the blank lightweight mystery. They had a chanced and chocked.

This series is really fun. The characters are delightful and in my opinion well cast. I have not read the book/books? Therefore, I have no preconceived notions or requirements. Ashley Jensen is wonderful and the perfect opposite to Jamie Glover's character. The chemistry between the entire cast is great. I love the little town they are in, I feel like I am right there. The mysteries are good not overly predictable and sprinkled with just enough emotional ups and downs. But even then, as long as I am entertained by the story and characters it would not matter to me. Thank The Lord For Acorn TV - I would not have found this little treasure had it not been for that channel. I am really hoping there will be more. I will be disappointed if that is "all she wrote."

A few months ago, I got serious and binge-read the entire series of Agatha Raisin books. I absolutely adore Agatha, and was eager to get into this new TV series. What a letdown! The casting is terrible. Where is my Agatha--the one with the BROWN "bear-like eyes," the glossy BROWN hair: the one with the good legs, but who doesn't always feel pulled together? Having a glamorous, blue-eyed blonde portray Agatha is a travesty. What must the author think? I also do not understand the casting for the vicar--it seems a case of tokenism (and for no good reason).I also do not like the story line involving Bill Wong. What's wrong with his being a policeman who's friends with Agatha? I am keenly disappointed!
