Reviews
Stephan Hammond It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
Roxie The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;
Wyatt There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
mrocco-1 If you don't like sappy clichéd romantic movies then don't' watch Hallmark movies. Serously. Don't watch and then post negative reviews about how sappy and clichéd the movie was. Hallmark is the place for those of us that want family friendly sappy romantic comedy/drama. In my hey day give me a vague plot with no actual ending and I was happy, if it came out of France I was in heaven. Now? Give me Hallmark. I have no idea what has happened to me lol. If you do like Hallmark movies in general, this is a really good one and in my top 10. I love the plot. I love the two main actors and the chemistry they showed in this movie. Big fan of Autumn Reeser. Wasn't familiar with the male lead but he was perfect as a cowboy of few words. I even loved the sidekicks such as the socialite friend who doesn't eat carbs...she just about stole every scene she was in. I just noticed that Dylan Neal was one of the writers. Great Job! Didn't know that when I first saw it (yes this is one I'll watch over and over), very impressed.
bkoganbing Valentine Ever After casts Autumn Reeser and Vanessa Matsui as a pair of Yuppie girls from Chicago who get stuck in the middle of some rugged Wyoming country out of gas. Fortunately one hunky cowboy played by Eric Johnson comes to their rescue and invites them to stay at his ranch. No fools they, Reeser and Matsui take that invitation up in a nano-second. Reeser even slightly forgets she's kind of engaged to Damon Runyan, same name as the famous writer who's top Chicago society.If Hallmark Channel movies have one thing in common just about every one I can recall celebrates the values of small town America. Valentine Ever After is no exception. Johnson and his family want to convert a working ranch into a dude ranch, but they're having cash flow problems. The local hospital is having those as well. The girls are responsible for breaking a local statue of the town's founder in the local Mickey Gilley's. These small towns do have their traditions. They work out their punishment with community service to both and the community is of course well served.I'm in agreement with the previous reviewer about Runyan's character. I can't imagine anyone falling for this guy, he's so self absorbed. He's a kinder, gentler version of Donald Trump. It's all about him.Valentine Ever After is a good Hallmark Channel film from their world where only good people thrive in small town USA.
decemberangel1286 I thought this was a good try for a Valentine's movie, but, there was a major piece missing from the plot, Julia, a girl from Chicago gets tired and needs a rest after getting proposed to by a multi- millionaire who seems too cocky and isn't even a well-rounded man. She asked her friend to go with her on a road trip and they end up in Emmettsville with car trouble, and along the way she met Ben, a rancher who has good intentions.The problem I'm having with the movie is that Damon Runyan wasn't even supportive of Autumn Reeser wanting to go out and do things on her own.He showered her with gifts trying to buy her love, and you can tell they aren't suited for each other, he is too stiff, boring and has no sense of humor. He doesn't even try to help Autumn with the fund raiser and doesn't even try to even comfort Autumn when she was upset or even try to understand why saving the ranch was important. He was nothing but a jerk. Damon Runyan was too much of a pretty boy, and too much about the money, he didn't even know what love was. Autumn finally realized that he wasn't the man for her, and he tried to stop her, and she admitted she heard what he told his friend. She finally listened to her conscious that was telling her it was time to move on. The plot could be executed better, but all in all, it was not bad.
