Urotsukidōji: Legend of the Overfiend Trailers

Legend has it that the human race is not the only dominant civilization living on Earth. Two other races exist in this world: the Makai (a demon race) and the Jujinkai (a half-man, half-beast race). Once every 3,000 years, a supreme being known as the "Choujin" (Overfiend) will emerge and bring balance to all three realms on Earth. In present-day Japan, after 300 years of endless searching, a Jujinkai named Amano Jyaku has discovered the presence of the Choujin inside high school slacker Tatsuo Nagumo. But now, Amano, along with his sister Megumi and their sidekick Kuroko must protect Nagumo and his new girlfriend Akemi Ito from the Makai, who believe that Nagumo is not the Choujin, but an evil entity bent on destroying all living beings on Earth.

Peereddi I was totally surprised at how great this film. You could feel your paranoia rise as the film went on and as you gradually learned the details of the real situation.
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Kirandeep Yoder The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
paulg-67221 Most people watched this because of the infamous tentacle rape. I however did not. I remember seeing the DVD cover as a kid and the image of a large monster standing over a city stuck in my mind. I am also interested in stories that blend fantasy (specifically dark fantasy) and horror. The story is that there a three realms: the demon realm (those who won't become human), the beast realm (the super-humans) and the human realm. In the demon realm, there is a legend that every three thousand years that a god known as the Overfiend is reborn in the human realm to unite the three realms to create an eternal kingdom. The demons are determined to stop this from happening by destroying the Overfiend where as the beasts wish for the Overfiend to create the new eternal kingdom. SKIP PARAGRAPH TO AVOID SPOILERS: In the end it is revealed that the Overfiend did create the world. Not only that, but if the Overfiend is not satisfied with its creation, it sends a demon of destruction to destroy the three realms so it can start again from scratch. I personally found this interesting as it raises a dilemma: stop the Overfiend or allow the world's destruction to make way for a utopia. It also brings up issues like how long has the Overfiend created worlds only to destroy them? It also shows that the demons that were presented as the antagonists at first were trying to save the realms from destruction. Now the major problem: it's hentai. I have no problem with pornography but I feel it got in the way of the story. It seemed to me the anime was more concerned with being as sexually explicit as possible rather than developing the world and its characters. I understand that sex was actually interwoven with the plot but at times it was felt excessive. I know some will disagree but I don't think that showing penetration actually added anything apart from shock value and attention. The tentacle rape and all the rape scenes made me feel uncomfortable. That was probably what they were aiming for but it makes me wonder if anyone gets aroused by it.I have seen both the edited English language version and the uncensored Japanese version, I recommend the Japanese version (if you can see it) as the story is explained more clearly, the subtitles are more accurate to the original dialogue and make more sense than the English dub. And if hentai is your thing that is another reason to recommend this version. SPOILERS SKIP PARAGRAPH IF YOU WISH TO AVOID THEM: In the Japanese version characters are more fleshed out. A little bit more, this hentai after all. For example in a scene Niki rapes Akemi, he shows remotes for his actions which is cut out of the English dub. There is also a scene in the uncut version that shows how Niki found out that he needed Nagumo's semen and blood to become stronger. In the English dub he just shows up one scene knowing this. Scenes that add to the story are integrated in the sex scenes which is why the English dub makes less sense as these scenes were cut due to explicit sex, such as the scene where a Niki woman forces her foot into his mouth. It is shown in the uncut version the women were having an orgy and teasing him after his advances went unnoticed by Akemi. Overall, this a pretty decent anime, not the best that I've seen. But then again if you are looking for a good hentai with an actual plot then I would recommend seeking out the uncut Japanese version and skipping the English dub. 6/10.
Jerghal Urotsukidoji - Legend of the Overfiend is as far on the extreme end of the animation scale as you can go. It's violent, bloody, has several borderline hentai scenes and is disturbingly apocalyptic. Between all the guts, dismembered limbs and destruction there is some romance too, why not. The story is rather messy, chaotic and garbled and lacks clear narrative structure and decent character development. But I guess this is one you like or you don't. Disney fans and people who insist on family friendly entertainment can move right along. The ones who are not easily unsettled and like some of the old Ultra-Violence should check it out.
TheExpatriate700 I'm almost hesitant to review Legend of the Overfiend, as I am only familiar with the dubbed version of the movie. The uncut version is nearly impossible to find, so I had to settle for the edited dub. To put it mildly, it left something to be desired. Aside from the fact that the edit cuts out much of what made the film infamous in the first place, it is a very cheaply done effort. To start with, the voice acting and dialogue is terrible. The actors frequently over-emote, with many of them putting emphasis on random words in their dialogue. This gives the film a very stilted feeling, taking viewers out of it. Furthermore, the editing is at times rather choppy, with bits of dialogue cut midway at times. However, some of the animation is very good, with some scenes of destruction disturbingly rendered. Furthermore, although the soundtrack itself is rather generic, it features some early work by Masamichi Amano, composer of the Battle Royale soundtrack. All in all, it's worth seeing if only to say that you have.
nickiemo 3 worlds must unite but will it be a good thing ?, every 3000 years a demon is found inhibiting a human , its up to man-beasts (half human ) to find this demon know en as the chojin , this chojin is very powerful the man beasts consist of ammino and megumi and a small little black character of another species , also there is an unpopular kid named Nicky who love'mekami but she loves the main guy ... ...... now what do i think?? gory and sexual hell yeah!! watch if you love twisted but quality movies some may be repulsed by the blood and boobs , not me! i think its got a good story also check out the equally inane 3quals!! i think this movie rules the animation is great because its from the 80's ....
