It was OK. I don't see why everyone loves it so much. It wasn't very smart or deep or well-directed.
Hadrina
The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Brennan Camacho
Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
Kayden
This is a dark and sometimes deeply uncomfortable drama

El Ano de La Peste "The year of the plague" shows the always interesting but scary premise of what would happen if a strange new disease popped up in a huge urban center with an incompetent and shady government trying to cover it up and thousands if not millions at risk.People begin to fall mysteriously ill in Mexico City and only Dr Sierra Genoves seems to notice it. Hospitals are full of people with "bronchial pneumonia" but Dr Sierra fears its the dreaded Plague. He alerts the city and national government, his warnings falling on deaf ears: The government chooses to deny anything is wrong in the city of 18 million, while hundreds die each day.At the end hundreds of thousands die in the capital city, including important foreign diplomats visiting the "plague free" city. Dr Sierra Genoves is left to walk the deserted streets full of trash and bodies as the President of Mexico declares "During my term there is not and will be not, a Pestilence." An interesting but sometimes slow paced thriller/drama that shows what can happen in a major city and possibly the world if a disease is not identified and stopped in time. The fate of man, rests on the shoulders of a few, ignorant individuals. Worth a check.
