The Descent: Part 2 Trailers

Distraught, confused, and half-wild with fear, Sarah Carter emerges alone from the Appalachian cave system where she encountered unspeakable terrors. Unable to plausibly explain to the authorities what happened - or why she's covered in her friends' blood - Sarah is forced back to the subterranean depths to help locate her five missing companions.

Reviews
Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Staci Frederick Blistering performances.
Delight Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.
clarenceporter The Descent is a masterpiece of horror- It came out of nowhere and stunned audiences and critics alike. There was no doubt that a sequel had to be made and thus we have The Descent 2 which somehow carries on the legacy of the failed sequel. Yes, there is a cave and there are cave monsters but what is lacking is a soul. This film proves the importance of a deft hand behind the camera and a great screenplay. We still have the cave and the same monsters, yet this is a letdown of a movie.
boallanjohansen Different people chased by the same blind albino creatures in the same cave. Walking around in well lit cavesA crawler crawling unnoticedA crawler jumping outScreamingSomeone getting mauled or killedMix the 5 elements above randomly. There, I saved you 1,5 hours of your life. The claustrophobia and suspense from the first movie can never be reproduced, but did they have to go out of their way to make this the LEAST claustrophobic and the MOST predictable movie of all times. Even the scene where one of the party members got caved in was less claustrophobic or scary than the silverfish infected kitchen in my first studio apartment. The plot twist in the end was literally the most obvious in the history of storytelling. As soon as old man Ed Oswald in the beginning of the movie reveals that his grandfather was lost in the mines, your first thought will inevitably be: "Oh, then he's probably feeding the monsters or something"The last clip of the movie, with a crawler jumping at the screen, was quite simply an insult to the intelligence of the viewers.Seriously. Why.And on a final note, why would every party member use two flashlights at all times as well as plenty of glowsticks and flares, when light is more important than water, and battery life is scarce as it is?
NotSoSaintly Honestly, you just HAD to make a Part Two? The first one did so well, but as you can tell by just the Rotten Tomatoes score, something changed. First of all, guys, when something works ... do not try to "fix" it. Oh, you thought maybe the first movie was too dark and it would be better if we were able to see more? Well, the darkness is what made it scarier. (Not to mention more realistic.) This is why it is not scary this time. The ambient light coming from nowhere in a dark cave system!! LOL We are laughing our heads off at whoever it was who decided to use more light. I mean, come on! Did they bring someone new in who thought he/she/they could do a horror film properly? Well, they didn't know how to do their job. Another reason to keep it dark in this film ... the sets are horrendous. I feel like I just got transported onto a Star Trek set from the 1960s. Bottom line, the first movie was good. Let it be. Don't watch this. They couldn't even tie Part Two in properly with the first movie, right off the bat. There is nothing here that will be answered, if you even had questions after the first. Just more of the same, death and survival. Please, do not make a Part Three.
Postal_Dude_Paradise_AZ I loved almost every bit of this movie, the producers/director either got it right consciously or by mere luck. As a lover of horror movies for a lifetime, this delightful almost parody of the first movie is a guilty pleasure like few other of mine. I love a good camp movie and i loved this movie because it's so cool about it. The gore and violence are enhanced to almost the levels of an early Peter Jackson movie or an Italian 80's gore fest. In fact i couldn't help thinking about how it felt like when the Italian trying to exploit an American hit would make movies like their "Terminator 2", "Alien 2" or "Zombie 2" (Dawn of the dead was called simply "Zombie" in Italy. But this flick is more than that, it has a good solid plot and the actors are believable and play it straight and that's what blew my mind, specially in this era of over serious approach to absurd premises. This movie understands it's preposterous origins and does what it has to do, not a simple continuation of the first one but a fun exaggerated barely tongue in cheek proposal of the original material. I've seen it more than The Descent and will probably do it again in the future.
