It's 2 A.M. in St. Louis when a routine scientific experiment goes terribly wrong and an explosion shakes the city. A scientific team investigates, clashing with an intergalactic, voltage-devouring creature that vaporizes them.

Reviews
Holstra Boring, long, and too preachy.
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
RipDelight This is a tender, generous movie that likes its characters and presents them as real people, full of flaws and strengths.
Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
Lado Tsulukidze I was bad in Physics at school... I admit, I was really bad, and only reason I got "C" grade and not Failed, was because my own grandma was the teacher.BUT - even I was laughing at the scientific side of this nonsense. One must be REALLY, REALLY high, to watch this movie and believe anything in it.Beside the nonsense plot, everything else in this movie is bad. acting, scripting, effects... total waste of time. Before this movie, all I knew about Black Holes was that they exist somewhere out there, and they are bad things... now I know why they say so...
harold-goedhart I generally like SF movies but they need to have some "this could be true" or scientific realism. This movie shows a black hole on earth and a creature that is connected with it? I could not stand it half way and watched the other 50% on fast forward. The story line is so typical that it shows nothing new. This movie is a waste of time and effort, sorry to be so negative. It could have been better without the alien creature and a more scientific approach. I think people that rent / watch this movie are very conscience about if things that are shown are possible and appeal to the SF sense. I like the basic idea that something really bad can happen in a particle accelerator because of "hurting God's feelings" by discovering more than we should or do things we no nothing about and therefor taking risks beyond our comprehension...
EdVance Two weeks before this I read Gregory Bendfords COSM. When the movie started I thought no way, it almost looked that this was going to be much fun. But as you know, there are so many great stories written, than why are the new scifi movies only about special effects, and everybody is forgetting the base, a good story. After watching this, I really thought what did I see, were did the time go. Calling this movie scifi because there is a black hole in it, is a bit mediocre.Better watch 'The day the earth stood still', special effects are simple, and it's black and white. But someone paid attention to the story.
wlee-12 There is a scene in this movie where the main character is driving in this van. Most of St.Louis has been destroyed and there is mass hysteria, widespread panic...He calls his ex-wife and daughter and frantically tells them to stay put, he will come and get her. In the next shot we see his van slowly roll up to a stop sign on a quiet suburban street and he STOPS AT THE STOPSIGN!! The city of St. Louis has been almost entirely destroyed and this dude stops at a stop sign on a quiet street while supposedly rushing to save his daughter. That is only one of a whole batch of flaws in directing. Apart from the obvious flaws this movie suffers from some of the worst acting I've ever seen. You kind of wish they would nuke all these people and put a quick end to this quagmire.
