Reviews
Karry Best movie of this year hands down!
Maidgethma Wonderfully offbeat film!
Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
Micah Lloyd Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
waggers-09817 The script for this movie was clearly written by somebody with very little idea. Its simple but mildly amusing however it could have benefited by somebody actually talking to somebody who knows something about naval aviation. Landing aircraft and launching aircraft at the same time is not going to happen and that was one of the more obvious problems.Flying from Alaska to North Korea where the flight starts at night, crosses the coast in full daylight yet by the time the aircraft covers the short distance to the DMZ, its suddenly full night. The explosions are fun and that perhaps is the best that can be said for this B grade sci-fi / action action movie. It just needed sharks with lasers to cap it off
alexanderchalkidis There have been many movies about Artificial Intelligence lately. Most of them pretty good actually, generally quite thought provoking. Especially for those of us who regularly talk to our phones and rely on cloud services for daily stuff. Close to home as they say. But none of them were fun.So here are three hitech warplanes who get a new team-mate. An all singing, all dancing, all watching and listening plane that learns on its own. If you know very little about drones, you might think it is somehow close to reality. If you know anything about military protocol you will not. But that isn't the point.Everyone says "Top Gun" when you speak about plane movies, but by the end, this is more like "ET" meeting the "Iron Eagle" trilogy. Epic stuff. People smile at the right time, salute, explode and laugh just when they should be. Well made movie. For its kind. As long as you don't try and relate anything you see to anything in the real world, geography, politics or technology. They even threw some romance in for good measure. This is not for everyone. If I wasn't in the right mood, it wouldn't even be for me.
tmorris9 So this is not a great movie but it's better than the majority of bad reviews.Yes the plot is so-so, yes it's just lots of action with no major plot twists. But the fact is if you go into it knowing this, it's a fun movie with action, explosions and more. Were you a fan of xXx (no not porn, the action movie)? Then you will like this. It's not a movie to watch with the girl friend or wife, it's strictly a guy flick.I would not pay $11 at the theater to watch it but it's worth a rental or free on TV watching especially if you are in the mood for blowing stuff up type movie.
Frederick Smith While the photography, special effects and acting are all excellent, this film just doesn't give us the resolution we were looking for. The bar scenes, the port visits, and even some of the shots of the main actors at play are there to give us a human identity as opposed to the EDI persona, I guess. But there are unneeded scenes, especially the one of Jessica Biel in a bikini, not that I found Ms. Biel unpleasant to look at, but the scene wasn't needed. The premise of the film has been done before (Frankenstein, Terminator, etc.), and while this film offers some splendid photography and great special effects of the planes and EDI, overall it lacks the authenticity Cohen is capable of. See it once as a rental, and don't forget to return it on time. You need not add this to your collection.
