ChicDragon It's a mild crowd pleaser for people who are exhausted by blockbusters.
Anoushka Slater While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
TeeJay1992 Four middle schoolers obsess and try to win over their neighbor Stacy's mom. If you've heard the song, which you probably would have or else you wouldn't have come across this movie, the movie features scenes that follow the lyrics of the songs. Like, in one scene the boys hang out with Stacy and her mom in the pool in their backyard. Another instance, one of the boys is mowing Stacy's lawn and then her mom comes outside with a towel on and tells him that he missed a certain spot. There was a funny part of the flick making fun of what happens to your voice during puberty. The saddest part is that the budget wasn't large enough to get the rights to use the song... or they didn't even try. I don't know. I hope they tried if they could. I believe I saw in the credits that the same band made all the songs throughout the whole movie. I was hoping when I first started watching this movie that they would play "Stacy's Mom" right when they actually showed Stacy's mom. Her entrance wasn't that great either. We saw her from far away FIRST and THEN we did a bottom to top scan. I felt it should have been switched.
nammage I can't believe there aren't any other reviews...weird. Anybody else see the Wheaties box in the beginning of the film with a white piece of paper taped over the 'Wh'? Like one couldn't tell...caught this film on Hulu; the acting was good by some and awful by others, especially by Kirk Diedrich. So...this, at times, felt like a kids movie and then at times...not. Such as when the lemonade girl in the beginning of the film kept saying motherf----- over and over again. Then certain scenes sort of reminded me of The Goonies but only in how the children (main four) acted with each other with a little Stand By Me (only when they talked about innocuous things) thrown in but then the raunchy stuff kicked in with a side of softcore pornography (without the sex or nudity but highly suggestive). This film made me uncomfortable watching it. It felt wrong in so many ways.So...a new girl named Stacy moves in and the four boys are flabergasted over Stacy's mom who is very attractive. And that's the end of the movie. No, not really but as I said: this film made me uncomfortable watching it. I have close to 20,000 ratings; I think this is the first time I've become uncomfortable in watching...well...anything. I think this film was working toward the comedic element of gags such as the asian teacher saying that everyone will speak only perfect English in her class though she didn't. The History teacher who was so old he had a walker and took him the entire class hour to get to his desk. The mobster-like teacher in cooking class etc., I had no idea what genre of Comedy they were going for; perhaps all of them. Didn't really matter: none of them really meshed well so the comedy fell flat most (or basically all) of the time. 40 minutes in, a teacher has a sex doll in his class and he's spraying it with whip cream. What school is this? Also, what teacher gives his student pornography? And that's not even the worst of what that teacher talks about in his class. Think beads and where they'd go.This film was all over the place with no real semblance of plot, story, meaning, life lesson, or anything. It was like the most amateurish people got together and decided to make a raunchy film for 12 year olds but I don't even think 12 year olds would watch this; let's put aside the fact they couldn't because of the rating of the film but I don't even think they would get it. I'm 40 years old and I don't get this film. What's the point of this film? I have no idea. Whenever it got to Stacy's mom everything became slow motion and in the four boys' minds: they had shared fantasies of her; like when she's walking toward them and she starts to take off her top one sees an American Beauty rip of hearts coming out of her chest area. There was a lot of that particular sexual undertones throughout the film...again: uncomfortable to watch.I felt bad for the Stacy character. I think she was just looking for friends and here she has these boys she's being nice to (and probably one in particular, hint hint) and they're ignoring her because all that's on their mind is trying to hook up with Stacy's mom (as if that would happen unless Stacy's mom is into 12 year old boys and I didn't get that impression.) Apparently, this film is based off the song "Stacy's Mom" by Fountains of Wayne, and while it works as a song that doesn't mean it works as a film especially since the filmmakers added so much more than what was in the song. The song was about one boy and this has four boys all fighting over Stacy's mom. Then the added teachers who use profanity in class as if it's something normal, and that one teacher having a sex doll and giving his student pornography. Now I know why there aren't any reviews.
