In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.

One of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.

The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.

Sparks is what any Hardcore Graphic Novelist would want to see in their work from a Comic Book, something that will tease the senses and bring a smile to the faces of those who are exhausted from watching a series of top action "Hero" movies, such as "X-Men", "Batman" or "The Fantastic Four". ...it is fresh (No cheesy booms on the top of the screen, or lip-sync errors) and most definitely a film that we will be reaching for again in time to come to watch with a few cans of Bud and a few friends. So anyone who likes any of those genres would like this film. It really has something for everyone.

mix it with Sin City, and then throw in a little Casablanca for good measure? Hopefully something sparks. And in this particular case—you do indeed get Sparks. The film had everything going for it: an amazing cast, awesome special effects, great story with nice twist and turns, tragedy and redemption. Sparks has become my new 2013 favorite. Folino and the others did an outstanding job with this super hero thriller that I believe to be filmmaking's rare gem. Sparks can not be compared to other super-films because It's To Damn Good! Take the badassness of Sin City, the coolness of Spider-Man Noir, the grit of Watchmen, sprinkle in the powers of the X-Men and you're still only half way to Sparks.

I can't believe how lame and almost childish this movie and the lines are! The visual effects are such a disappointment and the story, scenes, sound is just not worth wasting time on. At first I thought they style of the movie was pretty cool - the colors and the old school color grading was interesting but as the effects and most of all the lines where so bad that it then it ruined everything for me! It looked a little like Sin-City but that just isn't enough to make a good movie.Don't waste your time with this movie - it's not 5 stars worth watching and as it seems childish it's still too violent for children to watch. Too bad it could have had potential.

My god....where do I start. Unlike what a few reviewers have said, this movie is not brilliant, it was not an amazing story, and the acting is certainly NOT good. The acting in this movie, especially from the lead actor, Chase Williamson, was abysmally deplorable. I think that a cat in a large paper bag could have done a better job portraying Ian Sparks. To me, it seemed that he was just cold reading from the script while delivering his lines during filming. Very few of the other actors/actresses were much better. Clancy Brown's performance was, in my opinion, the only real redeeming acting job among the entire cast. Although at the end, even his acting fell short. Beyond the deplorable acting was the film itself. The concept of the movie was what drew me to watch it. The idea of the noir super-hero movie was intriguing, and I truly looked forward to seeing it. Wow, was I in for a surprise. I sat through the film, hoping it would get better, but it just got worse and worse with every scene. It seemed that the writer couldn't decide if the lead character, Ian Sparks, was supposed to be a poor Batman, or a moral Comedian (Watchmen). It also seemed that the concept of the superhero story was being shoehorned into the noir detective story. All in all, this movie was an incredibly bad, low budget, poorly acted steaming pile of horrible. Don't waste your time. DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE.You have been warned.
