Wisty Deloris is a singer and becomes a witness of a mob crime suddenly. To shelter her, police sends her to a nunnery as a sister.This film is comedy and music. I like music part of this film. For the first time I watched this film, it was in the music class, I didn't remember that because I may not like this. However, I like this film now because its music. Deloris starts coach the choir in the nunnery but the choir was terrible. Gradually they become better and their singing is very nice. I like the songs and I often sing them alone.Also casting is very nice. Whoopie Goldberg is wonderful actor and her voice is also nice. She plays sister Mary Clarence perfectly and fascinatingly. And other sisters are nice too. My favorite sister is sister Mary Robert because she is very cute and Wendy Makkenna plays very nice.

Davis P Sister Act (1992) is a smart well made comedy with great characters. Whoopi Goldberg really plays her starring role Dolores well, she is touching, delightful, entertaining, and hilarious when she needs to be. Maggie smith is awesome too! She is smart, funny, and fits the role very well. Kathy Najimy is absolutely hilarious here! When she sings so horribly at first, I was in the floor dying laughing, her Comedy just really works in this movie. The writing here is great, it's comedic style just works so well with the actors and their performances. The characters are also just so incredibly lovable, you automatically sympathize with them and pull hard for them. This film really works due to the writing and the performances, that's what lifts it up. Well that and the singing, the fun hip gospel that Whoopi inspires in this convent. This film is just a good time to have, It'll make you laugh and fell heart warmed at the same time. 8/10 for sister act.

sme_no_densetsu "Sister Act" is a 'fish out of water' story about a lounge singer (Whoopi Goldberg) who witnesses a murder and is forced to hide out in a convent until the murderer can be brought to trial. As you might expect, she has difficulty fitting in, though the choir presents an opportunity for redemption.While the story may be light and fluffy, the acting talent elevates the movie above most comedies. Whoopi Goldberg was fresh off her Oscar win for "Ghost" and she was ideally suited to the role of the sassy Deloris. Perhaps even better was the always reliable Dame Maggie Smith as the formidable Mother Superior. The supporting players didn't disappoint either, with the likes of Harvey Keitel, Bill Nunn & Kathy Najimy joining lesser known (but no less memorable) Mary Wickes & Wendy Makkena.In terms of production values, the movie is more than satisfactory. Emile Ardolino's unobtrusive direction supports the comedy and also allows the music to be showcased. Focusing mainly on 60's girl group music, the soundtrack has some memorable moments and interpretations.While the plot may simply be too frivolous for some, "Sister Act" is an enjoyable popcorn movie with several memorable performances and songs. It wasn't vying for any Oscars but there's a reason why it was such a big hit back in 1992 and why it still holds up today.

Nicole C Whoopi Goldberg is hilarious, and her acting is great in this. She usually plays characters who have sass, and she is able to deliver her lines amazingly. She is also able to express her character's emotions really well which makes it fun and engaging for the audience. Najimy and Makkena too, add some comedic effect to the narrative, and their expressions are pretty funny.Another thing I was impressed with is the singing. At services, the choir sings, and I am not sure if the actresses are actually the ones singing, but I really like Mary Robert's voice (OK, apparently Mary Robert's voice has been credited to Andrea Robinson). That makes sense, as it was pretty surprising to hear that singing voice come out of her. It was great lip-singing though!The story itself isn't so interesting, and serves as more of a fun movie. It does seem that the film mocks the lives of nuns and the convent in general, as Goldberg's character routinely ridicules their rules and way of living. In addition, Mother Superior is made out to be strict and the other nuns as being ignorant and innocent. Plus, in the end they are pushed outside their usual norms, which just feels like the film is making fun of them.Overall a pretty hilarious film, with great acting and an OK storyline.Read more movie reviews at: championangels.wordpress.com
