Steineded How sad is this?
Matylda Swan It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
Zandra The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
sdreelin This is not a film for everyone. It is done more for the art and has weird dreaminess about it, though the story holds up well. This is not a typical Bollywood love story (guy and girl irritate each other, then fall in love and then there is some remake of DDLJ in there). Love is the warm feeling this movie gives you even though the entire movie is cast in blue colors. Ranbir Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, and Sonam Kapoor are outstanding. I cannot think of anyone better suited for their parts. It's hard to really judge Salman Khan's role since it is a short part without much dialog. All other supporting characters are perfect. I loved Zohra Segal as "Lilipop". She made me want her as my own adopted grandmother! I read the user reviews and was set for a great Bollywood movie, but came away with mixed feelings. On one hand, I'm not into art films, and I wanted to not love this when I started watching it, but there is some sort of trance this movie keeps you in and while you want to hate it, you just can't seem to get there and you stay for more. The feel, the music, the set and the characters all work as a drug to keep you on board. My choice of 5 out of 10 is more because I don't get into art films, but yet I liked this one. Like I said, mixed feelings about it. If you love art films, it will probably be closer to a 10. If you love the typical Bollywood romances, it will be less for you.
gorgonite Saawariya should be seen on the big screen because everything about it is beautiful. The songs are great (A 10 min remix of the title track would fit in the film nicely). The story is based on White Nights by Fyodor Dostoevsky and feels more like a stage musical brought magically to life. The sets are like a fairytale blue/green tinged Venice. The characters and performances from the cast are spectacular.Pros - PoignantCons - Ranbir Bhai's character is a bit too goofyOverall - Take a bow, SLB
mukki chandra Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is known for for his experiments in Indian cinema weather that is 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam' or that is 'Black' by which he created magic of darkness.'Saawariya' is again a experimental movie which has a very simple old traditional Indian movie story like 'love triangle'. It's a movie around 5 character Ranvir Kapoor as 'Ranvir Raj',Sonam Kapoor as 'Sakina',Salman Khan as 'Imaan',Rani as 'Gulab Ji' and Johra Sehgal as'Lilipop'.To do something new Bhansali created a wonderful and beautiful movie set of Venice but that is a very horrify experience for audience to overcome from that set and night seen during whole movie.Music of movie is excellent but after some conversation between characters there is music this led to think that weather audience has come for enjoying music or enjoying conversation.Acting performed by Ranvir was good debut attempt by him.Sanjay Leela Bhansali couldn't create magic as he did in his previous movies.
Moksh Juneja Saawariya is a movie loosely based on Fyodor Dostoevsky's short story "White Nights". First things First is debut actor Ranbir Kapoor. He completely reminds of you Raj Kapoor with his actions and dressing style in the movie; he also reminds you of Shammi Kapoor with the "Yahoo" style of mannerisms and dance, in dance again his style is a serious competition to Hritik Roshan.Sonam Kapoor reminds of you Waheeda Reahman from Pyaasa, it is cause of her natural beauty or the lighting effect or whatever may be the cause. Her character was too docile in the movie and very indecisive. The movie has not being appreciated cause of the art that Sanjay Leele Bansali has put up and has a depressing ending, just like Fanna ending. You can do this to a movie with such happy characters. What does the colours actually mean in the movie. I think it was to showcase some kind of dreamland or cause the whole era in the movie or a time is not fixed in the movie. One thing that the audience cannot relate to the movie is because there is definite time period. At the same time, i would appreciate the art and the set design that was undertaken in the movie and the imagination that was used, but why Blue color? Other characters in the movie. Veteran actor Zohra Sehgal is quiet good in the movie as English lady with complete panache and does to justice to her role. Rani Mukherjee actually overdid and make up with all the songs in the movie. for Salman Khan fans, this is not a Salman Khan movie
