Reviews
TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Mabel Munoz Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
Stephanie There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
rx_rotors This 2016 remake is as bad as it gets. Whoever knows the original Series will instantly know what I am talking about. I have no idea what the production team was thinking - they obviously tried to scramble up all successful elements from children-movies throughout the last decades, and created exactly that a scramble of nothing. The story line is terrible, boring and the characters could be replaced with any type character. Characters' personalities are not only weak but pretty much non existing - If there is a character or personality emerging it's forced. I think I mentioned the weak story-line with it's all over the place elements. Terrible story book. There is literally nothing left from the original series, which was simple, had strong characters and a great story-line. This one tries to be complicated and fast paced but losing breath within the first 10 minutes never getting to the finish line. If that wasn't enough - the voices of the main characters (Tobbi especially)are not only annoying but sound like the tele-tubbies... Film-making should elevate the audience or at worst give some decent entertainment, not pull them down onto a level of a single cell animal. Terrible and absolutely horrendous.
Laura Materne I've never seen a movie made out of a book this badly. Out of a 250 page book they managed to take 4 elements to make this 100 minute film. It's a wonder they put in the 3 title "figures". And even then they changed their stories completely. The only other thing from the book they squeezed in unchanged was the black and yellow striped lighthouse. How can you make the Fliwatüüt run on gas. Lose the whole school work plot line completely and still give it the same name? Instead it now is a story with evil corporations, bad guys that are the laughing stock and fart (and other bodily function) jokes. A story about 2 boys helping each other and solving puzzles became a story about 2 outcasts against an evil corporations and their minions who want to take robot alien technology. Modernising a book from the 70s is one thing. Destroying people's childhoods is another thing and exactly what this movie does. It's barely worth the one star I have to give!Me and my mother went in happy for an opportunity to relive good times and instead got cheated out of a lot of money for this drivel of a movie.
