Reviews
Platicsco Good story, Not enough for a whole film
Bessie Smyth Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Brenda The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
LeonLouisRicci Gritty, Gloomy, and Relentlessly Downbeat Corrupt Cop Movie is Nothing if Not a Display of the Doom Ridden Atmosphere of the Streets and its Devastating Influence on Folks who are "Turned" by the Very Thing that They are Fighting Against. This Family of Folks, who just Happen to be a Family of Cops, One of which goes Over to the Dark Side, Another who is sort of Somewhere In Between Looking the Other Way, and Another who is Basically a Good Guy who did Something Wrong Once and is Trying to Fight Off the Depression of a Misstep. Papa Cop Never Took Anything but the Paycheck Cut by the City. This is an Actors Movie with Edward Norton, Colin Farrell, Jon Voight, and Noah Emmerich All Giving it 100%. The Story Might get a bit too Weepy with a Subplot of a Cancer Victim and One Overdoing the "I am bad, but look I love my Kids thing", however these are Thankfully Not On Screen Enough to Slow Down this Already Rough Ride.Overall, be Prepared for a Feel Bad Film, but After All a Story such as this would be a Cop Out if it was Anything But.
Desertman84 Edward Norton, Colin Farrell, Jon Voight and Noah Emmerich star in a gritty, tension-packed tale of a multi-generational family of cops facing hard realities and tough choices in this movie entitled,Pride And Glory.Director Gavin O'Connor collaborates with screenwriter Joe Carnahan on this family-focused police drama concerning an honest homicide detective assigned to investigate the precinct run by his potentially crooked older brother and as the investigation begins to reveal some troubling facts about the precinct, it gradually becomes apparent that the policeman who is also the older brother's best friend may be the man orchestrating many of the suspected crimes.Pride and Glory is more than just lousy for it's an amalgam of every bad tendency of the current cinema, stitched together into a single monstrosity of a cop movie. The only saving grace is Edward Norton, whose mere presence raises the level of a film several notches.
g-bodyl Pride and Glory turned out to be a much better cop film than I expected. Based on the storyline and casting, I anticipated that this film would be very similar to 2007's We Own the Night. But this movie surpassed Night in many levels. Night isn't a bad movie but Pride and Glory is just better. This film is another film that deals with police corruption in the NYPD. This film is primarily about multi-generation family who has to deal with corruption. The acting is very good. I was really impressed with Edward Norton. Norton is one of the best actors working today. Colin Farrell and Jon Voight delivered some good performances too. Overall, this is a gritty cop film that can be emotional at times. Despite the bad reviews, I really enjoyed this film. I rate this film 9/10.
Maniac-9 This is a good movie about a family where all the adult males are cops. Edward Norton and Noah Emmerich play brothers with Jon Voight their father, and Colin Farrell as their brother-in-law. Edward Norton delivers his normal strong skills as the lead of the film. There was a shooting of police officers who were part of Colin Farrell's team, Edward Norton is the detective put in charge of finding out what happened. It's found out that Farrell is corrupt and Norton has to decide does he crack the case the right way or does he risk breaking up his family. Later on the both of them get into a brutal bar fight.I wouldn't put this up there with Norton's work in Fight Club, Primal Fear or American History X but it's still nevertheless a good solid performance here.
