Did you people see the same film I saw?

an ambitious but ultimately ineffective debut endeavor.

A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.

The best Star Trek since 2001, better than the last 3 movies and Discovery, it,s 20 minutes long but it really captures the essence of what Star trek really is, It's not about the fan being difficult, it's about Star Trek keeping it's heart (or identity), just watch it on youtube and come back to say that my review wasn't helpful, i know you won't :)

Even Prelude to Axanar is fan based, could founded Independent short story it looks amazing. This is the way Star Trek movies should be. Even I like also J.J. Abrams Star Trek movies they are far away from the original feeling and idea of Star Trek. On the other hand Prelude to Axanar manage to bring original Star Trek universe back where it belongs, to fans. I only hope that Paramount could come closer to real fans of Star Trek fans and make this project to original Star Trek movie. They could finance this project as fan based movie and let it stay Independent project. Great story combined with great actors and beautiful CGI with the feeling of original Star Trek universe is something fans should get. I hope this project will get it finance and we some day will see a true Star Trek movie again on big screen.

It's been a while since we've had some good Star Trek, true to the vision of Gene Roddenberry. Prelude to Axanar is what this fan was hoping for and it delivers.Told as a historical documentary, and narrated by "John Gill" (Patterns of Force -- TOS season 2), it sets up the forthcoming film on how Garth of Izar (Whom Gods Destroy -- TOS season 3) earned his wings and became a legend in Starfleet. The production is top notch and I eagerly await the film! Congratulations to all involved in the making of Prelude. As for my 9 rating it's only because I wanted to see more!!!!

Prelude to Axanar- Shows what can be done when you get professionals in front and behind the camera donating their time and skill to something they care about. The clever documentary style is one example of how thought went into this. Old fans respond to the care shown to past episodes-yet its documentary style can make some one new to Star trek join in.Star Trek with its history of 5 TV series and 11+ Feature Films has had ups and downs. Recently with the 2 new films -Star Trek has reached larger audiences But in my opinion these films were more a blockbuster money making effort. That's fine for some, for myself I would prefer more care with story and exploring the trek universe. With Prelude to Axanar, that's what you get -you can tell those making it are fans of Star Trek that's very important. The fans new and old respond to that. Its the fact they are invested in making a professional production (for no profit)that is exploring the rich history of Star Trek that resonates. The other great thing is its all history to explain the origins of one character in the Original Series. Just think how many other great stories are waiting to be revealed. And this is just a prelude! The Full feature awaits and look at the kick starter to see how people are eager for that.
