Nonureva Really Surprised!
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Michael Ledo The film opens with 3 subplots. Emma (Adelaide Clemens), an heiress is kidnapped by a psychopath. Meanwhile our unnamed star (Luke Evans) and Betty (Laura Ramsey) are relocating. He is somewhat of a sociopath, an idea role for someone who can't act. The third subplot concerns a group of criminals who are robbing a mansion when the owners come home and surprises them with deadly results.About 20 minutes into the film the subplots come together and we find ourselves rooting for a sociopath killer. The film contains gallons of blood and gore. It is smartly done for a low budget. It has a decent script along with good characters, dialogue, and some decent acting. Luke Evans has a cold delivery that is darkly comical,"You people never heard of zip ties?" Adelaide Clemens as Emma was equally cold and darkly comical. Not for everyone, but one I liked.Parental Guide: F-bomb, sex, nudity (Laura Ramsey-brief, America Olivo-thank you.)
jwilcox-61341 I wasn't expecting much based on all the recent horror movies I have seen that are lacking that special something, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this movie. Some of the acting could have been better, but overall I thought this was a fun, gory thriller. Definitely worth a watch.
Stephen Abell A nice "Leave your brain at the door" psychological action thriller. However, if you think too much about it, you'll see the many flaws. This is a story we've seen before, a man loses his girl to a gang of criminal thugs and takes it upon himself to wreak vengeance on the gang, in the most graphically violent way possible. In view of this, the film is still fresh, this due to the twist in the story... and it's a good one, though I had figured it out by the second scene.Ryuhei Kitamura does an excellent job of creating tension and suspense at the right times as well as keeping the story tight and moving at a rapid pace. All the actors give good performances, especially Luke Evans as The Driver, Adelaide Clemens as Emma Ward, and Lee Tergeson gives his usual "Bad Boy" as Hoag. It's also nice to NOT see a wrestler anywhere in sight saying WWE had a hand in production.Unfortunately, not to give spoilers I cannot say much more, though I would recommend this to all revenge lovers, out there, to watch at least once... ... but don't think too much about it - just enjoy.
fernie121793 I really love this movie and if you're a fan of the whole horror-action genre this is it. Sure I'm being way too generous with the review but this movie was fun to watch. I love how everything worked in this movie from the gore, blood, acting and just pretty much the whole production. Speaking of acting, Luke Evans is the real star of the movie and did what he does best : acting, yes despite its script, Luke Evans did an amazing job ! Yes the dialogue was at times generic, not weak, and at times funny either unintentional or intentional (be my guess). Luke Evans is pretty much amazing in this movie as he uses his talent to pull off some psychopathic charm to root for whenever he goes in for the kill. Adelaide Clemens is also a highlight of the movie and to be honest, her character Emma Ward was the only character that truly developed from beginning to end. My only complaint is that no one has heard much about this movie and since its release it really didn't have much a solid reception at the box office when it was released on theaters which is a shame to Luke Evans, who's acting has so drawn so many fans and admirers from his years on Broadway to now films (Fast & Furious 6, Immortals and Dracula Untold); The Story/Script was okay but wished for more of a back-story to the criminals that held Emma captive and wished for more scenes with the mysterious "Driver" played by fine Welsh actor Luke Evans. The good would be simply both Luke Evans and Adelaide Clemens. The bad would be that there's little of character development (with the exception of Emma Ward played by Adelaide Clemens and Luke Evans aka The Driver) and generic performances from the other actors due to the script but with a movie like this you just here to watch and be entertain for all its gory and action sequences and might care less for the acting. I'll give this movie a 8/10.
