Claysaba Excellent, Without a doubt!!
Salubfoto It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
Anoushka Slater While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Mathilde the Guild Although I seem to have had higher expectations than I thought, the movie is super entertaining.
DIVINE STAR This movie is like trying to retrieve gold from the river so it does not drift away into nothingness. It is a reminder of the gorgeous past of the late 1980s Hindi cinema. Also, it is the 'Titanic' of Indian cinema. Recently my family put it on and we were immediately glued to the movie. The chemistry between Salman Khan and Bhagyashree is one of a kind, portraying the innocence of youth and the blossoming of their friendship into deep love for each other is truly a heartwarming experience. In my honest opinion, true love between man and woman is a blessing from God and should be cherished. Rima Lagu plays the mother and she does a great job too. May her soul rest in peace. It is unfortunate these kinds of movies will never be made again, at least in my life time due to change in mindset from generation to generation, but this movie is a sweet reminder of the past of what we left behind and will most certainly be an inspiration to future generations who get a chance to watch this classic. Also, after reading some other reviews, I was very happy to see that some people found inspiration to find true love in their lives after watching this movie. This movie is fantastic, the best Hindi movie of all time, and like I said, it is the Titanic of Indian cinema. Unbeatable, unmatched, totally awesome!!!!
ervipul-71111 I am 1987 born. This movie is of 1989. I was so much influenced by this movie that later i think, that i did almost same as love marriage with talking to my father in law in front to front and asked for her daughter hand and many more. It's best love movie i have ever seen in my entire life. Suman character was always my dream girl. And the boy character inspired me. BEST MOVIE OF MY LIFE. Even i cannot explain it in words. love the songs and everything about it.
Gypsi Bates Prem (Salman Khan) returns home from the US to find Suman (Bhagyashree) visiting with his family. She and he become fast friends, which eventually blossoms into love. Prem's rich father is completely against a match with Suman; Suman's father reacts to this by also forbidding a marriage. Prem must work hard to earn the right to marry her. This is a sometimes silly movie, occasionally overacted, but thoroughly enjoyable. It is Salman Khan's first leading role, and both his talent and charisma are fully apparent. Bhagyashree did an excellent job as a gentle teenager feeling first love. The music and choreography are not memorable, and the fight scenes were a bit over the top. However, the story was sweet and the emotions portrayed were realistic. Overall, it's a movie that leaves the viewer happy for having watched it. (On a side note: I loved the pigeon!)
k-nijhawan a typical Hindi film - but oh, the beauty and the tenderness and the warmth of the love story...its the reason i fell i love with films! not to forget the fact that it gave Hindi cinema one of its biggest stars - salman khan. his casting couldn't have been more perfect. forgive me for sounding cheesy, but those big, wounded eyes packed in a punch. there wasn't a single member of the female species unaffected - old and young, mums and daughters, teenage girls and grandmas. and the reason he was so effective - a near perfect film with wonderfully appealing characters, almost unbearably tender romance, and a dash of healthy drama! play it again sam!!
