Reviews
Inadvands Boring, over-political, tech fuzed mess
Jenna Walter The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
Kirandeep Yoder The joyful confection is coated in a sparkly gloss, bright enough to gleam from the darkest, most cynical corners.
Taha Avalos The best films of this genre always show a path and provide a takeaway for being a better person.
MartinHafer returning to funny Back in the 1980s, I felt that Louie Anderson was one of the funniest (and cleanest) comedians. Whenever he had a TV special I was sure to watch it and enjoyed him thoroughly. Later, in the 1990s, he began writing books about his abusive childhood. I understand that this was an important part of his recovery but I also noticed that his humor seemed to get more maudlin and less funny. And, at the same time, you stopped seeing him on TV. Then, a bit later, he began hosting "The Family Feud". What happened to the wonderful, original and funny Louie Anderson we had loved so much? Fortunately, a lot of the old Louie Anderson is back in "Big Baby Boomer". While I didn't laugh quite as hard as I used to, he was funny and enjoyable--though some of his humor was still a bit dark--particularly in regard to his own health, aging and weight issues. But this is a minor concern--the show IS funny. And, it marks a nice return to the funny Louie I have longed to see again. Well worth seeing, though the language might be a bit rougher than you remember in his earlier days.
