Reviews
Laikals The greatest movie ever made..!
Teddie Blake The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.
Nicolas Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies
Gary The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.
benbntz I saw this movie in Cantonese ten years ago and in English last night. In a nutshell, the movie is about a young girl dying, losing and gaining hope, and finding love. The movie is well made and all the main actors and supporting actors render a very good performance, including Wai Man Chen who was only 22 years old when the film was made and has been criticized for giving an unappealing performance. I am still confused with some of the images filmed in Scotland. Nevertheless, the scenes show the skills of the cinematographer and somewhat explain the character of the overseas Chinese and Lam's decision to love, return home, and fight her illness. Although Lam dies at the end, the director in the last scene magically turns the film around into a celebration of life.
canit This movie is a treasure. The beginning was a little tedious and drawn out, but I'm glad that I watched the rest of the film. The movie focuses on life and death. More specifically, it shows the richness of life despite the inevitability of death. Usually a movie with similar theme goes into a lot of tiresome pontifications, but this movie uses the subtle things of individual characters to gently convey its message. Little thing such as the mother taking care of her cripple daughter, the little girl with asthma, the kid who wants to help her mother by growing roses, and so forth. A touching little movie that will stick with you. I most definitely recommend it.
Beeeil AMAZING!!! This has got to be one of my favorite movie of all time. When I started watching it, I didn't think I would enjoy it, but what a surprise. I like the most about the many small characters in this movie, especially the 3-year-old girl and her drawing; it was so touching that I had goosebumps. The whole movie, IMHO, was "magical", all the way until the end. Most highly recommended.
RongRong Kelly Chan played her part as a woman with cancer searching for hope. She may have been the main character, but more endearing than her rigidity and hidden self-pity is Mr. Worn's (Takeshi Kaneshiro) belief in life and it's magic.A truly enchanting film. Strange and sporadic at times but wholly endearing.
