An absolute waste of money
TrueHello
Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.

This is ultimately a movie about the very bad things that can happen when we don't address our unease, when we just try to brush it off, whether that's to fit in or to preserve our self-image.

Romantic Love Stories are staples of the Bollywood Industry. I mean, it's like what Steven Seagal is to action. So it gets hard to continuously reinvent the same melodramatic and shitty genre over and over. However, every once in a while there will be a movie that's somewhat decent. London Paris NEW YORK falls under this category. One of those, random meet up stories, spanning a few years, where the characters grow and learn to live each other, kind of thing is what this is, but a cool one. Ali Zafar, musician, singer and pop artist from Pakistan makes his debut as a lead actor in his own movie with London Paris NEW YORK. Seen recently in the craptastic MERE BROTHER KI DULHAN, Ali Zafar seriously flexes his acting chops in this. The girl is another new up and comer, seen in smaller roles here and there. Aditi Rao Hydari also does a very nice portrayal of a girl who evolves over the years. Basically the story is about how this guy and girl meet randomly in the airport. Get to talking, have to end up spending the day together due to clichéd unforeseen circumstances, and end up falling in love
. Eventually. I know, it sounds gay. However, the entire fascination of London Paris NEW YORK lies in its dialogue and performers. The whole movie is more talking and the characters' chemistry than anything else. The entire story relies on these two characters' chemistry
. And it works pretty well. The story has equal moments of sweet-ness, comedy, sexual tension and not to mention just pure awkwardness. Which is refreshing to see, that a movie doesn't have the polished 'filmy'ness of typical Love Stories. London Paris NEW YORK isn't for everyone. It'll be a little cheesy, however it's incredibly witty, sometimes satirical and just plain cool to see a Bollywood story where the interaction between guy and girl is so brutally realistic. Even down to the insecurities of pre-marital relationships in South Asian culture
without being stupid and retarded. The show stealer here has to Ali Zafar. I don't mean to gush, but his Kishore Kumar-like voice, along with his pretty boy good looks and hip urban youth attitude, probably makes him the most natural actor in this kind of role that I've seen. A lot of actors have portrayed 'cool guys', but it always seems a little forced and having to try to be so. However, Ali Zafar here seemed to be oozing this comfortable and natural ease in his performance. This is further punctuated by the amazing monologue in the third act where he goes off on the girl, in a reversed 'guy using the girl' scenario, and makes a statement regarding how some Desi girls' actions directly cause the guy to feel like there's more in their interactions then there might be. Again, very real. This isn't an exciting film by any means. Things don't necessarily, 'happen', they just are. The characters meet up years apart, and react to the changes in each other during their time apart. Some uncomfortable silences, awesome dramatic monologues that aren't cheesy AT ALL, make for some easy viewing. London Paris NEW YORK doesn't change the status quo of Bollywood films by any means. It's a small film, relying on both the young and inexperienced actors' performances to move the story forward in a very nice and easygoing way. It's a very real and fresh Bollywood love story with minimal cringing.

London Paris New York - Trash It (C+) A boy meets girl and fall in love in one day and they meet for only one day in span of 5 to 6 years in London, Paris & New York. In today's digital world it's hard to image that they don't keep in touch with each other just because she said so... The script is flawed from beginning to end The Boy remains almost the same but the Girl from Naive in London, Evil in Paris and then turned into Nicest in New York. There are moments which are really good but bad music & tedious pace of the movie makes it really boring to sit through. Ali Zafar is a charmer but not that great of an actor he made me bore. Aditi Rao is great in portraying three different shades of her character though sadly there is not much thought about it she falls in love takes revenge and then forgives easily. Anyways if you want to watch it, you can watch for Ali Zafar & Aditi's chemistry but its tedious overall.

Guy met a girl at London airport. They spent entire day together. They fall in by the end of the day. They met again in Paris. After sometime girl told that she hates him because he lied. Guy come to NY to meet her & come to know that she is already engaged. Later guy realized what is he loosing so he also rush to the church but found out that she has already refused to marry her fiancée.Short & sweet movie which is much better than regular bollywood movie. Aditi roa has acted really well & she carried herself in a beautiful way in the role of feminist. Ali zafar was good as usual but he has repeated dialogue which makes me bore at times. Songs are good except for one. Entire movie rotates rotates around the two and has not focused or taken into account anything not relevant which makes the movie special. Direction is amazing, without mentioning 6 months later,8 months later, director maintained to make the movie to go in one through. Script is beautiful. Dialogues are what we use in day to day life but not stereotype.

Bollywood can treat you with a 'Kahaani' and at the same time, it can delude you with 'London Paris NewYork'. This movie is a very bad attempt (to say the least) to recreate 'Before Sunrise' and 'Before Sunset' (which were both quite good). The movie is about a film- maker Nikhil Chopra (Ali Zafar) who is a typical rich guy with inherited wealth from his family. He meets Aditi aka Lalita at London airport and they spend the day & night together. They promise to meet in New York after 6 months. 2 years later, we are in Paris. Nikhil is here to find her and they meet in one of the pubs where she has changed from a geek to someone who has breathed the Western air. If you have seen the movie till here, you have done the hard part. We are at intermission. The second half begins well. After spending the night in Paris, Aditi ditches Ali. She tells about her journey from NY to London, just to see him with someone else in bed. She believes this is her revenge and will destroy Ali the way it destroyed her. Here we feel we have some justice to the pathetic first half. Few years later, we are in NY. Ali is here to meet Aditi and they spend another night together. The next morning when they wake up, Aditi is to marry a new guy Alan. Ali cant believe it. How I wish, this was the end.. but Bollywood HAS to have a happy ending and you know what happens next.Ali Zafar can't stop over acting and Aditi Rao portrays herself as a complete rookie..The songs are a complete let down.. You are better of watching a nonsensical comedy like 'Ready' where at least you have Salman Khan to look at. This one's even worse ! AVOID in caps.
