SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?

Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

What a roller-coaster ride, m i impressed. Certainly. With all due apologies, i kept away from watching this flick for so long n m i surprised after seeing it. Guys leave all d rubbish people say but this certainly is if not perfect but still a well directed n picturised love story. Anurag basu is indeed a story teller, precisely a love story narrator n boy,he does his job well!!. Has been able to depict a beautiful but unusual romance b/w 2 persons who don't understand each other's language n there lies d best part. Both of them emote n enact their roles with aplomb. In fact they sizzle. Hrithik was a good actor, that was never in doubt but here he proves it all d more n delivers an emotional act. U seem to be involved with him whether he laughs, dances, fights or simply d best scene when he cries n 1 can c sorrow n despair in his body language, his face ,his eyes. Truly an actor who has given masterly performances in lakshya n guzaarish which bcoz of their different takes largely went unnoticed.. He delivers his dialogues in English with so much ease day 1may simply forget his native tongue. He is class apart,. Especially laudable is his dance at the. Beginning where he mesmerises n enthralls u with his effortless moves. n special mention of d gr8 work behind d camera capturing d moments in a quite beautiful manner, with a decent hummable background score. In all, this ain't any nonsense, u got to watch it n accept it for d performances, on screen persona of Hrithik, cinematography n direction. N as far as glitches go, give them a blind eye to enjoy n appreciate the good hard work... Hrithik the Greek god. .....

I have discovered Bollywood movies 2 years ago and I have seen plenty of them (almost quitting western movies !) So I have been used to very long movies, sometimes too long.Reading the reviews, it seems one half have liked Kites, the other half have disliked it. I clearly belong to the first group ! I have been able to see the "Remix" version (by Brett Ratner who is not Mr Nobody) and it is the first time we can see a movie in a Bollywood and a Hollywood version. The Hollywood version is shorter and has canceled few useless "crime" scenes but on contrary has added some intimate scenes at the end of the movie (Linda speaking of her treasury box when she was a child) that comfort me in the feeling the movie is too short : 2 hours and 15 minutes would have been correct compared to Bollywood standard and would have given more density to the love story between Jay and Linda/Natasha.It's a pity (for those who like the movie naturally) and I hope once there will be an extended Bollywood version

OK that man is gorgeous, Hrithik, and so is Barbara Mori, and that is about where the movie ends. First of all, I am quite familiar with the soundtrack from this film, and most of it was missing from this version, which is too bad, because the music is the best part about this movie. Secondly, it is not possible to walk from Mexico to Las Vegas. There is a border fence and guards. Additionally, it is 275 miles from Tijuana to Las Vegas, and, unless you are an American citizen, you would not be allowed to just cross the Mex/Am border and walk away. Thirdly, there is a scene where the actors end up in a jungle outside of Vegas, there is NO JUNGLE near Las Vegas, it is in the desert! There, in alleged jungle, they apparently have sex, but there isn't even a make out scene to at least hint at this, and then after she tells him to turn around while she gets dressed and accuses him of seducing her? Well now that makes a lot of sense. Furthermore, you would most likely not walk away from smashing and blowing up twenty cop cars and murdering all the officers in America. And furthermore, what human being in America would be allowed to kill a bunch of people and walk away, all in the name of getting his beautiful girlfriend back? RIDICULOUS. Barbaras dress would not still be white and perfect after all they went through, either..... Now, if you, like me, know the music and the music videos better than the film, you will wonder where this "lets sell all our jewels and run away together" stuff, and the saris, and the Indian wedding and India, went? There is NO India in this film, except for a couple of actors. So, as a crossover movie, it is a disaster. You want a good crossover movie, watch Slumdog Millionaire. Sorry what a huge disappointment.

a nice story to tell. but narration failed in parts. dialogs were not audible enough. the lead actors performed for the potential. the movie stressed upon all elements like story , action , revenge , tragedy , etc. but the problem was none was used for full potential. the character of lead actor was too cheap. bank robbery , car chases , building assault , train escape , etc was all good with filled action. the songs were mild and touching with beautiful scenarios. the first number was spectacular and lead actor:s moves were mind blowing. a simple love story with cop chases and silence numbers. not a treat for Indian public. but definitely a watch. plus points: 1. songs2. actionminus points: 1. story which was blank and stale2. climax3. no comedy at all. except some ullu Ki Patti"4. no hot touches from actors for the public appreciation5. cat and dog chase as usual most common nowadays. final verdict: just above average . can take a chance to go.
