LouHomey From my favorite movies..
Patience Watson One of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.
Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
jenzjewelz-1 I loved the movie- it's the kind you keep thinking about even after the credits roll. I feel like the naysayers fall into 1 of 2 categories: 1. They're know-it-alls - just because the characters didn't make the choices you wanted them to do, doesn't make it a bad movie- if that's what you're after, go play The Sims! 2. They're people who don't agree with the premise of the movie, but it's based on a true story, so if you want to tell your own story... start writing the script to your own movie!I may be a bit bitter, but some of the reviews with low ratings on IMDB may have caused me to miss out in this wonderful film!
Gabriel Batista "Jungle" is well filmed, have beautiful music, and have several metaphors to delight, for those who have artistic personality. Aside from the script, it should be taken much more into consideration as it is based on a true story.
Tim Kerr-Thomson The acting is good, the cinematography is good. Unfortunately, the film is let down by its predictability. So many movies have been done about a group of people lost in the jungle, desert or at sea and the conflict between them in their fight for survival. This movie runs along those same lines. Not a bad watch, but don't expect anything special.
lidija-21338 Based on real events, this is a story about three young backpackers in the Amazon jungles of Bolivia who, in the early eighties, naive and hungry for adventure, fall prey to a fraudulent guide. The movie is quite predictable, but it is still nice to watch, partly because it remains realistic (with no unbelievable or extreme scenes or exaggerations), and partly because of the beautiful scenery and laid back atmosphere of the hippie communes shown in the movie (you are likely to think yourself of taking a gap year and taking off to South America). The acting is decent and unpretentious; the movie predominantly focuses on the perspective of one of the travelers, Yossi. The ending is not overly dramatic, and has a nice humane touch.
