Reviews
Doomtomylo a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.
Derry Herrera Not sure how, but this is easily one of the best movies all summer. Multiple levels of funny, never takes itself seriously, super colorful, and creative.
Stephanie There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Kinley This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
sunnyinsa93 Ghajini movie involves love, memo, & some almost superhuman fight scenes Its a good movie....its a movie that not only successfully made but successfully promoted also. Its completely entertaining & amazingly well made After watching this movie I realized that Indian movies has raised themselves in standard! Define it would be the toughest project for Amir khan Overall Ghajini is a great entertained packed movie!
Anagha Ghajini(Hindi) if not completely, did manage to do justice to the original Tamil Movie. The movie marked the beginning of the 100-crore club in Bollywood. It also marked the debut of Asin and she has performed extremely well in the movie. The movie has every element be it romance, comedy, tragedy or action. Aamir Khan plays the role of a rich businessman who falls in love with Kalpana(Asin),a struggling model. For the rest of the story you must watch the movie, I don't wish to give you a spoiler here. I have now started finding better movies through www.flickstree.com. It not only suggests great movies to watch, it also tells where you can watch the movie online.. Highly recommended
anandkunwar95 Ghajini is an Indian psychological thriller film directed by A.R.Murugodoss and is a remake of a Tamil film of the same name released in 2005. Ghajini's linear story followed a sequence of events and ends with a typical happy ending (sort of) to provide closure for the audience. The film follows Sanjay Singhania (Aamir Khan), the protagonist of the film with his hunt for Ghajini, the man behind the murder of his girlfriend Kalpana Shetty (Asin). Sanjay suffers from anterograde amnesia, which prevents him from forming new memories, as a result of which he is unable to remember anything for more than around 15 minutes. This film is actually two films in one, first being the romantic-comedy flashback of Sanjay and Kalpana, and the other being the gore and violent present following the death of Kalpana. The most entertaining part of the film was the light romantic-comic backstory where rich businessman falls for middle class model Kalpana Shetty. The protagonist hides his identity and pretends to be a struggling actor to spend more time with Kalpana. This romantic backstory could have been a separate film in itself. Music and background score by A.R. Rahman were integrated well within Ghajini, with Behka, Kaise Mujhe Tum, and Guzarish being the highlights. There was decent chemistry between the lead pair. One of the cons of the movie was that it was too long; then again the movie was actually two movies in one. I'd say the movie is a one-time watch. Some people also claim that Ghajini is a remake of Christopher Nolan's Memento to which I strongly oppose. This film is NOT a remake of Memento. The confusion is created from the fact that both of their lead characters suffer from anterograde amnesia who used a Polaroid camera and tattoos to remember things. Also, both of the lead characters were driven by the murder of their dead wife/girlfriend and the urge to avenge. But these things don't suffice for being called a "remake". Ghajini followed a linear narrative in contrast to the mind-blowing non- linear narrative of Memento. The story that follows is again totally different. I advise the people who haven't watched Memento to go watch it and not give in to the hype that Ghajini is a remake of Memento.
swagger902 Ghajini represents everything that is wrong and sick about "bollywood" (even this name makes me feel sick and gives away what "bollywood" is all about i.e. very very poor copy of Hollywood). It can't get rid of what it thinks is necessary to make a "good" movie. Non-sense comedy sequences, self-proclaimed best action (unnecessary of course), "songs" (there is no need to say anything about songs in a bollywood movie), and above all steal a brilliant story without the faintest hint of honest acknowledgment and then trash it in such a way that you can be bastard enough to claim it your original story. Murugadoss represents a classic case of Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v (copy and vomit). On the other hand, Memento (2000) is all about what is so great and lovable about Hollywood and Nolan in particular (I know he is British). It is not about thinking out of the box but it is believing that there is no box. It's about learning to remove any constraints and so allowing your style and imagination to take you where you need to go, to push the boundaries (this is from JJ Connolly). For the review I would recommend the article by Kathy Gibson from Access Bollywood (http://accessbollywood.net/2009/01/01/movie-review-ghajini-2008/). I think she has done more justice to both Memento and Ghajini than I could.
