Lollivan It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
uscmd OK right off the bat we are not talking big budget best movie of the year stuff. But for slow TV night, or if there's nothing at the video store....I think you'll find this entertaining, although a bit transparent. How this for a storyline? "A militia rebel group resurfaces with a vengeance to assassinate the President for the death of their brothers. Agent McGregor, now the head of the Secret Service tries to prevent attacks on the President's life, but when the President is shot and her husband Grant is kidnapped the stakes are raised and Alex realizes that she has now become a target as well." We've all been there, done that. So no big plus for original story line or big budget cast.Give it a chance, better than much of whats on TV.
Igedda Maybe the worst movie ever produced concerning the President and the Secret service. A complete and utter disgrace to the Presidents office and the secret service. Don't see this its horrible .. The Director clearly didn't know anything about what he was directing. Compare it to The West Wing and it makes you want to puke. I know this was before 9/11 but to think it was like this before you could think this was done in the 1970 when it came to details.Rubbish ..and no wonder none of the really went on to bigger roles after being in this movie except for the guy that is currently on Desperate Housewives but this must have been a straight to VHS movie if I ever seen one.Who would pay to see this.
newleaf This was a routine, made-for-TV movie. It features average acting from all involved, and a predictable plot. You've seen others like it 100 times already. If you want to go for 101, I guess it's up to you.
Streetwolf Summary:Alex and Grant are now married, but they still haven't been on their honeymoon since Alex can't find the time. The President Jonathan Hayes has a girlfriend, Cathy, who is having a hard time adjusting to the spotlight, whilst Jess is getting ready to have a great birthday party.Meanwhile in Oregon a militia group blow up an army base killing several, which gets the President's attention, who then decides to go there and make a speech, not knowing that he is the original target, but why is there another shot after the President is down? With Grant's help Alex discovers that the President wasn't the only target. The movie starts off with a flashback from "First Daughter" where the militia group gets caught and for a moment I thought i was actually watching that all over again, but no, this was the beginning of First Shot, Alex(Mariel Hemingway is blonde in this one) and Grant (Doug Savant has a full beard this time) are married and we weren't invited to see the wedding ceremony. Agent Courtney Robinson is trying to prove that the new guy agent Owen Taylor (Sebastian Spence looks great in this role) is not gay so she may stand a chance with him, but her partner Doug says otherwise and that's all the fun in the movie there is. The President gets a girlfriend causing problems with how his teenage daughter Jess (She's Libby the mean girl from "Sabrina the teen witch") has to adjust to that and oh yes then the President gets shot.(Gregory Harrison looks great. Huge margin though, in For Ladies Only we get to see him in almost nothing, in this we get to see his belly and that's it. Joking, he does a great job as his recurring role as the President)I'd give it a 7/10.
