Bunty Aur Babli Trailers

Bunty and Babli are two avid dreamers. Two free souls born into caged small town realities. They grow weary of being two specks on the horizon. They desire the horizon itself. And so they pack their aspirations in worn out bags, whip a scarf of confidence around their proud necks and set forth. On a journey across the length and breadth of the country, spinning circles around the people they meet.

Aneesa Wardle The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
silvan-desouza Oh my God does Yashraj films think like how normal people do? Okay the plot is okay 2 people want to make it big but can't because they have no money and their scenes at the start are nice but the robbery part is so stupidHow does Rani, Abhishek get the expensive clothes for the first crime? Then every robbery so fast is too much to believe Even Dhoom 2 Mr. A looks more believableThe entire love angle, marriage front of Taj MBhal is even weirder Amitabh's characterization too fails to leave a mark The entire climax is even worst The scene together between Amitabh and Abhishek before Kajra Re is the worst scene ever featuring themShaad ALi goes 100 steps backward from SAATHIYA Music is saving grace but too many songsAbhishek acts well, overdoes at places but is good Rani irritates with her voice but does some scenes well, her performance is over-hyped Amitabh bachchan is alright
Biswajit Tripathy Chopra's have always given us the kinds of pictures that we love to watch. This is one such movie. This movie is about a young boy and girl who ran away from their house with only dream in their pockets. And what they achieve? A nice movie from the house of Chopra's and for the first time father son teams up for this movie.Rakesh is the son of a Ticket Collector with Indian Railway and the only earning member of the family. Like every other father in India, he also wants his son to be a Ticket Collector like him. But Rakesh is very ambitious and wants to be rich in the easy way as like most other today's youth. Hence he runs away from the home.Vimmi belonging to a Punjabi family stays with her parents. Like all parents, they want her to get married. But Vimmi wants to be a actress and model. She also runs away from her home. Both of them meet, gets attracted to each other. Initially both of them were cheated in the big bad city that is called Mumbai. Then they devise plan to bend the city down to their knees. They rename themselves as Bunti and Babli and starts their journey. They get married in a very informal ceremony. During all these they sell Tajmahal or some foreigners, cons businessman. This part is a bit too funny. All is well until Babli gets pregnant. Dasrath a Police Inspector has been assigned the job to catch them. What lies in store for them. That is the thing to watch.A complete entertainment package. Aishwarya has got a dance no. Kajrare which was a super duper hit with the masses. Songs are nice, Picturization is nice too. A nice story with nice acting by the lead as well as all other actors.
larubia90631 Let me preface my comments with this disclaimer, I am a nonIndian. Forgive my obvious ignorance and any misspellings, and proceed at your own risk.I rented B&B from Netflix because I've seen KHAKEE with Bachchan. the father and Ash Rai, plus KUCH NAA KAHE WITH Bachchan, the son and, again, Ash Rai. The father is obviously an national Indian treasure as a wonderful, serious actor. The son is clearly a gifted comedian and maturing, sensitive actor. Ash Rai? She's one of a kind too, and she clearly knows how to pick 'em in her leading men. By the way, Ajay Devron, her leading man in Straight From the Heart, Raincoat, and as that nefarious terrorist in KHAKEE, is another example of her very good taste in who appears opposite her on screen.B$B is delightful especially for Bachchan the son, who did great work here in various con man roles and in his interaction with his perky, little costar, Rani Munkerjee. Of course, the whole thing is a bit of fluff from beginning to end, and anyone who expects more, should leave as soon the first energetic musical number hits the screen. The narration by Bachchan, the father and his eventual, inevitable appearance as the world-weary cop chasing these carefree, con kids is worth the wait. Of course, it is just like every other American cops 'n robber spoof that I've ever seen; nobody really gets hurt. Now the surprise and joy for me was the so-called 'item number' in the bar with father, son, and their co-star from other recent movies, Ash Rai. The drunken banter (no, I don't speak Hindi and had to rely on the subtitles) and body language was very funny to me despite, or maybe because of, this obvious handicap. Their interactions with Ash prior to the dance number were perfectly timed comedy reactions too. The dance number itself ripped up the place and Ash looked as if she was having a lot of fun "flirting" with two of her favorite men. Now that's entertainment in my book, and in any language.Go rent B&B, or, even better, buy the DVD and add it to your Bollywood collection. That's what I'm doing right after I finish this review. Thanks to both Bachchans, Ms. Munkerjee and Rai for sharing their talents with all of us.
useme Having seen "Sathiya"(very good movie with the same director), I was expecting a lot from this movie. But "Bunty Aur Bubli" doesn't hold up to Sathiya's level. The movie starts off showing two small-town-young-ambitious youths(Abhishek and Rani). Both have their dreams to prove the world. Rani wants to become Ms.India and Abhishek's never pointed directly in the film(i assume it's a social worker). But in a country where corruption still persists and especially where small town youths are considered unsophisticated, both face failure. Tasting the sour reality, both change their original names to Bunty and Bubli. Then the journey begins fooling rich, silly people and politicians. By then, Bunty and Bubli are so popular that their news are making headlines all over the country. A cop(Mr.Bachhan) tries to catch both of them. But its not an easy task. Thus, the tom and jerry game begins. I never understood the theme of the movie. Well, they seem to be helping poor citizens by showering with money they stole(or rather grab cleverly)from the riches. I'm still confused are they thieves, socialist or what not!! Besides, it leaves few questions untouched. What happened to Rani's desperate dream of becoming fashion model, designer and Ms.India?? Abhishek's philosophy of success("ees duniya mein do kisim ke aadmi hote hai...") is not really justified. Also it's so funny that wherever Bunty and Bubli go, they always seem to leave the "Bunty love Bubli" tag. I was laughing at a serious scene where Rani is pregnant, crying with pain, driven in a wheel chair. The cops are shown searching for them and Abhishek looks tensed. But with so much difficulty and Rani's sickness, they still manage to leave "Bunty love Bubli" sign on the wheelchair. Why would anyone do that knowing the cops are looking for them?? Overall, the film would have been more interesting if the film did not have so much cocktail(romance, comedy, thriller and what not!!)feel. Music is really good esp. Aish's dance number. Performancewise, all the actors have done their best. But the film's ending is rather awkward. It would have been better if Rani was shown doing some Fashion designing or Abhishek as teacher or some politician!!
