NekoHomey Purely Joyful Movie!
BroadcastChic Excellent, a Must See
SeeQuant Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
hnt_dnl BRING IT ON was a sleeper film that made cheerleading films fun and in vogue! The first sequel, BRING IT ON AGAIN? Not so much. Thankfully, this 3rd film in the series, BRING IT ON:ALL OR NOTHING returns to the original form of BRING IT ON. And it just might be funnier than the original! Although the original had elements working for it other than humor, in addition a solid cast. Well, this 2nd sequel doesn't disappoint in that regard either. It has 2 solid leads in Hayden Panettiere and Solange Knowles (Beyonce's little sis!) and I found myself laughing throughout! Also this film has something the original doesn't have: sex appeal! It is rather risqué at times while the original was always light in tone and presentation. Guess it's a matter of which one you're in the mood for. Just make sure to ignore the 2nd one BRING IT ON AGAIN! Panettiere plays Britney Smith, whose father gets a job in a new part of town and so Britney must transfer to the new school district with an urban high school. The opening scenes are especially hilarious when Britney tries to acclimate herself at the new school. Britney was the head cheerleader at her old school, so she butts heads with Camille (Knowles' character), the head cheerleader at her new school. Britney promised her old squad that she would stop cheering altogether. That scene where she 'kills her pom poms' is hilarious! Of course there is the requisite evil cheerleader Winnie (excellently played by Marcy Rylan, who is just plain hot!) who takes over when Britney transfers. Like in the first one, these are the most ADULT looking high-schoolers you'll ever see! Just go with it!Pannettiere really does a fine job carrying this film, combining elements of the fish-out-of-water tale, racial differences, and of course, the cheerleading s/l! Knowles is a fine 2nd lead and Rylan is a pitch-perfect evil cheertator! The lead cheerleaders get sterling support from their supporting cheerers from both squads: Britney and Camille's girls Kirresha and Leti (played by Giovannie Samuels and Francia Almendarez) and Winnie's girls Amber, Brianna, and Sierra (played by Cindy Chiu, Danielle Savre, and Jessie Fife). Fife in particular is hilarious playing the dumb blonde role.BRING IT ON:ALL OR NOTHING is about as good as sequels get! And this coming from a guy who hates sequels!
bob the moo At her high school Britney Allen is popular and the captain of an award-winning cheerleader squad. However when her father gets a new job she finds herself at a rather less white school with a rather rough and ready squad. Although she had promised to never cheer for another squad, Britney's rivalry with captain Camille sees her stepping it up and bringing what she had to a whole new squad. However her old squad is working harder than ever and confrontation is inevitable. It was a very wet Saturday afternoon where my partner (at time of writing – and things are now open for review in my opinion after this afternoon) selected this film from Sky and started watching it. Having seen and hated the first Bring it On film I wondered what a third one had to offer and was dismayed to find that the answer was "less". The set-up here is the same as the other film in regards two squads competing in who can jump around the most but it is even more basic than before. The plot has race in there as before but instead of a direct conflict we have apple-pie Britney learning to krump and "take it to the streets". To say I cringed is an understatement. The story is weak and only here and there are self-aware bits of humour about how dumb the characters are but they are few and far between. Instead we are not only expected to take it seriously but also to care! Neither of these were possible for me and it didn't help that I found the cheerleading action pretty repetitive and dull. The cast don't help. The novelty value of having Heroes' Panettiere in the lead role wears off real quick and all that is left is the horror of seeing her trying to "urban-up" her character as she goes along. She is pretty and has a good body but she cannot do much with this. Unfortunately for Solange Knowles, looks are not there to save her and instead she delivers a tired urban cliché, complete with neck twisting and finger snapping. The rest of the cast do much of the same and only one of two have dippy characters that are amusing. Oh and Rhianna can do much better than this – did this really help her shift units? Overall then this is a tired cliché-ridden film that offers very little in the way of entertainment value. The plot is poor, the characters paper thin and the action weak; it was hard to find anything in it to cling to as a reason for keeping watching, apart from the knowledge that what I watch next will feel better than it otherwise may have done due to the power of comparison. If you must watch a cheerleader film then by all means try the first Bring it On, which at least had budget and stars – after that I doubt you will feel a need to progress through the series.
liberalblossom15 Britney (Hayden Penettierre) was on cloud nine - wealthy, pretty, popular and the newly crowned captain of her cheering squad. Then her world comes crashing down around her when her parents announce that they will be moving and she will be attending an inner city school. She is devastated and vows she will never cheer again until she joins the squad at her new school. Now she's forced to decide who she can trust, who her real friends are, and what guys deserve to be in her life.In some ways this film is a reiteration of the first film, except that the wealthy white girl is thrown into the inner city school instead of competing against them. However the acting is well-done, especially from Hayden and Solange Knowles - Smith. There is a good amount of foreshadowing so the ending doesn't feel thrown together. The drama feels real on screen (even though it is actually unrealistic)and the characters are likable. The best thing about this film has to be the end routine - it brings everything together. The things that annoyed me about this film: *the IM speak - it wasn't funny, it was annoying, and anyone who talked like that would be beaten up.*how dumb Britney acted in the beginning - considering a C-average good, and telling her friends they're too fat.*how Britney lets everyone walk all over her when she has so much attitude. How does that work? Overall: This is a worthy direct-to-video sequel to the original. It's a fun film to watch with good performances and awesome dance moves. Do yourself a favor, skip the first sequel and give this one a watch if you liked the original, or just want an entertaining cheer leading movie.
Amanda Smith I have to say this movie was better then the second one, the second one was terrible, and it was just awful. This movie is entertaining and fun to watch, but there are some scenes and actors that are not that good. Some of the actors, well i don't even know how they even got the job, they were just bad, and not convincing. But I did like some of the scenes, like when they were cheering at the end, and I loved the beginning, and the plot was very good too. This movie was pretty entertaining, and if you buy it on DVD, you will a bit sorry, but only a little, but rent it, it's worth a watch or two. Overall this is an OK movie.
