rjdjones It's Babylon 5, and I really don't want to be critical because after the slow start of the first 2 series I really enjoyed the Vorlon/Shadow war. I'm watching it again on FX at the moment and I still like it.But this - what was the point in this extra DVD? Apart from a lame attempt to get more cash from the franchise just exactly how does it contribute to the storyline? From the start we get Lochley, a priest and a 'possessed' character.But, wasn't the whole point of the Vorlon/Shadow war to show that the whole angel vs demon thing was based on two groups of powerful aliens pissing around with people's lives just to prove a point - order vs chaos ... "who are you?" vs "what do you want?" and letting thousands/millions of others die while manipulating things from the background. Great, thanks very much, now clear off.Then this story goes against all of that and says - actually no, there are real demons, and a god, and all that stuff with the Vorlons etc. was just irrelevant - we are good catholics really. Yeah, right.This felt like a pointless miniplay and instead of bringing a much wanted return to the universe of Babylon 5 and what happened next ... it just leaves a nasty aftertaste.I won't bother describing the second story because I was nodding off before it finished anyway, not tired, just very, very bored.If you are really that desperate to see B5 again, I'd recommend just rewatching the old DVDs.

dreamflower530 The Lost Tales could never have really lived up to fan expectation. Two major actors have since passed on and no network or studio would be intelligent enough to fund such a scifi fan favorite.Understandably, the effects and budget were minimal. However, the writing was also minimalist. Not a good thing. It felt as if the whole idea could have been better produced, directed and written by the fans. It's a shame that JMS and company couldn't have showcased their obvious talent better.I was a huge fan of B5 and now am NOT of Lost Tales. There was just so much that could have been done better. I can't recommend this one to any fan of the franchise.

JoeB131 I paid $24.98 for the DVD, which is what I think they spent on sets for this movie. The production values of this left a lot to be desired. I think they had all of five sets, and everything else was green-screened. I know that the old sets from 10 years ago have long since been disbanded and they moved production to Canada to save money, but some elements looked like they were done on the cheap.In the area of story, however, JMS delivered. The first story about Lochley and Father Cassidy was top-notch, exploring issues of what will become of religion in an era of space travel, and a priest with doubts about his own role. They encounter a man who claims to be possessed by a demon, and consider the implications if this is true. The B story is equally good, with Sheridan struggling with an issue to kill someone who might become a genocidal madman. Prince Regent Vitari, son of the Former Emperor Cartagia (never actually said but clearly implied) is to launch a war against Earth in 30 years, according to the technomage Galen, unless Sheridan kills him now. Sheridan instead finds a better course.An interesting touch was that the characters of G'Kar and Stephen Franklin were said to be "exploring beyond the rim". Of course, the actors who played them passed away, and this was a nice tribute to them. (There is also a tribute sequence in the extras).Still, I found this far more enjoyable than the last 60 million dollar Trek bomb.

g-w-ryan To Me, "The Lost Tales - Voices In The Dark" should have remained lost, in the vaults of videos S**t movies. it was perhaps the worst ever... what it was to have the Legendary Title Of "Babylon 5" plastered over the box. Too All those who are reading this, We Should Demand Our Money Back From Warner Brothers.Because If This Is The Direction Of The Babylon 5 Franchise, I Myself Will Ignore This Once Great And Full Of Potential Franchise. I believe the writers and producers should request ideas from the shows fans, who better to ask then those who enjoy the show. could you imagine great ideas to come out of those whom love the show? I am sure that many fans are standing by awaiting that call.Maybe this will reach big guys, or am i just blowing off? who knows
