Better Late Then Never
Lidia Draper
Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

One of the worst films we have seen in a long time. Story is full of plot holes and in the end zero emotion. Just don't really care about any of the characters. Forced and contrived mixed with special effects that are not even special. The 1 star reviews are true. Nothing here to see folks. Best to move on.

I enjoyed being led on a rescue mission thru kids eyes. Fantasy, I enjoyed it.

At first I thought a good editor might have saved this film by cutting it down--but it's not three hours long, it only seems that way. All of this is sooooo obvious and didactic. No sense of wonder. No excitement. The best we've got is Reese Witherspoon, who seems to be in a different and more whimsical movie but who really doesn't have anything to work with. We watched about 45 minutes, then skipped forward to the end, which also was slow . . . slow . . . slow . . . and uninvolving. Duvernay's "Selma" was much more interesting, but also played somewhat fast and loose with the material (making LBJ a antagonist to ML King rather than an ally). This film also seems not to be the book it was based on.

Such a waste of time and money. My 10 & 11 year old feel asleep and I don't remember most of it because I was bored.
