Roy Hart If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

Stevieboy666 A Nightmare on Elm Street was surely one of the biggest and best horror movies of the 1980's, and that's quite an achievement. So part 2 comes as a bit of a surprise in that it is a much more basic film. There are some good special effects, just not as plentiful as the other movies in the franchise. And personally I liked that aspect of it, for me I think that the special effects became a bit TOO much of the series and detracted from the fear that the first two instalments generated. Neither do we have a wise cracking Freddy, something which, again. I felt went too far in the sequels. And lastly - minor spoiler! - we have a final boy, not a girl, which makes a change. It's nowhere near as bad as some reviews make out but unlike some of the other entries it doesn't leave much of an impression.

theterminator-92378 The original Nightmare on Elm street movie was iconic and so we were expecting big things from the follow up movie but unfortunately we were given a movie that really was a rehash of the first one and the only new thing that we got was Freddy possessing our main lead but besides that we weren't given something inventive. Robert Englund is Freddy and continues to terrify us and Mark Patton is our lead boy Jesse who moves into Nancy's old house but really doesn't realize the hell he's walked into and overall he was an interesting character to get behind and i was sad to root against Freddy . Kim Myers is Lisa who is Jesse's love interest and someone who will help in the fight against the man of the dreams she was yet again another person who i enjoyed seeing go toe to toe with our bad guy. I have to say that Freddy's revenge compared to other films in the series it doesn't do well at giving us Freddy and making us purely terrified of our villain but still there are still good moments which redeemed it from being called an overall train wreck.

I was 11 years old when I saw this for the first time, with my family, and it was one hell of a terrifying film. Couldn't sleep without the lights at that time. Even today, whenever I'm on a bus, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 just pops into my mind. It's one unforgettable movie with so many horrifying scenes and special effects, Incredible Actors, Legends - Robert Englund, Mark Patton, Kim Myers, Robert Rusler, Clu Gulager, and more. One of my favorites, and one of the best sequels ever made!!!

Wuchak Released in 1985 and directed by Jack Sholder, "A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge" takes place five years after the original movie from the previous year. A family moves into Nancy's former house on Elm Street with the focus on teen Jesse (Mark Patton), as he attends a new school, develops relationships, including a girlfiend, Lisa (Kim Myer), and is increasingly possessed by the hellish specter, Freddy Krueger. Clu Gulager and Hope Lange play Jesse's parents while Robert Rusler plays his best friend. Marshall Bell is on hand as the gay gym teacher.Fans of the series tend to put down this first sequel, but I found it a perfectly fitting continuation of the story. We know from Part 3 that Nancy was off at college at this time so what's wrong with showing what's happening back on Elm Street with a new cast of characters? Myer is super-cute, even stunning in a young Meryl Streep kind of way while Patton is effective as the brooding, tormented Jesse. The long pool party sequence in the second half is a highlight and the idea of Freddy literally possessing a victim is unique to this installment. That said, they coulda done more with the female cast and there are some laughably cartoonish parts, like the bird episode. I also coulda done without the homosexual coach, but it happens.The film runs 87 minutes and was shot in the Los Angeles area, including Palmdale and Fontana.GRADE: B- (6.5/10) ***SPOILER ALERT*** (Don't read further if you haven't seen the movie) Jesse wasn't gay; it's a myth perpetuated by people who read that INTO the script.Right out of the gate the movie shows that Jesse's interested in Lisa, a babe, ultimately 'fessing up to his love for her; and it's mutual. Despite Jesse's torment from Freddy increasingly trying to possess him, he still can't resist getting on the floor with cutie Lisa to make out at the pool party; and only stops because of Freddy manifesting the monster tongue. Jesse understandably freaks out and escapes to Grady's house (who's grounded) and asks if he can stay the night while Grady keeps guard on him; he even warns him not to go to sleep because he might be possessed and do something evil, like murder.The only legitimately gay element of the movie was the aforementioned subplot about the homosexual gym teacher who hanged out at a S&M bar, which was revealed by Grady at the very beginning. Of course, the coach is nixed by the halfway point.
