This is How Movies Should Be Made

The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.

An adrenaline seeking snowboarder gets lost in a massive winter storm in the back country of the High Sierras where he is pushed to the limits of human endurance and forced to battle his own personal demons as he fights for survival. 6 Below: Miracle on the Mountain is for sure a very interesting real events dramatic story but unfortunately the movie doesn't portray it as good as it could probably could. Josh Hartnett's perfomance was quite good and basically the acting was overall good but the film's dramatic aspect was a bit disappointing and it was lacking the signifant "epicness" that it might needed. To be honest i found it quite the disappointment in the end. (5.0/10)

I really wanted to enjoy this movie, but my gosh, the pace is awfully slow. I can enjoy movies without all the top notch stars and CGI effects because it's the storyline of the drama & acting that I'm observing, but this was just a good ol' snore fest. The story is one of those inspirational "finding yourself and not giving up" and I usually really like those sort of true stories but I just couldn't get into this. I remember looking up and it had finished; Couldn't really recall what had happened. It was boring, unfortunately.

Based on the true story of Eric LeMarque (Josh Harnett). Eric is a young man with a meth habit. He is a hockey player and it is claimed he is good enough to go pro. While snowboarding he selects the wrong path as he did in life. A whiteout happens and he gets lost, having to survive living off of bark and flashbacks. Mom decides to look for him after a few days giving us a subplot. If you are looking for a good survival film of man against the element, building igloos and hunting wolves armed with just a snowboard, this isn't it. We see Eric mostly laying on the ground thinking about his past relationships with men, like dad and the coach. There are some faith elements in the film, the bible is quoted, but they manage to avoid the "J" word (Jesus). It wasn't Kevin Sorbo bad.More akin to a Lifetime film than a serious thriller.Guide: No swearing. Partial male nudity.

Amazing true story about how the love between a mother and son can help overcome the most hopeless situations. You might not believe someone could survive such a situation if it wasn't a true story. Also a reminder how drug addiction can ruin your life, but you can be redeemed.
