Just so...so bad

It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.

Entertaining from beginning to end, it maintains the spirit of the franchise while establishing it's own seal with a fun cast

I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

Watching it the first time just out of curiosity, and it was a total waste of 60 minutes, it takes longer to choose a puppy at the local SPCA than selecting a future wife on this show. How desperate can these women be??? this is as low as it can get......

Described as a kind of "pageant", with evening gown, swimsuit, and interview rounds, "The Proposal" replaces the judges with a bachelor or bachelorette who selects from ten suitors. Between the moments of glitz and hype, there are reminders that this is real and it involves real people with actual feelings. One round has someone close to the bachelor(ette)-like a father or sister--meet the remaining suitors and ask tough questions. Another "real" moment is when the runner-up is standing nearby as a proposal is being delivered. Awkward, to say the least. This can be viewed as a high stakes contest. The nerves are real. The emotional risks are substantial. But no one gets married on the show. There may or may not be a proposal, but the couple can take as long as they want to test the validity of their dramatic, on-air choice. As entertainment, this show is similar to many others that attempt to capture and package the emotional trappings of the first meeting, the courtship, and the commitment. But viewers may feel like they are watching a train wreck, because experience tells us that it takes considerable time to discover the myriad aspects of personality and compatibility. In fact, things happen so quickly that the audience is not given enough time to adequately identify with the participants and to buy in emotionally. This is its greatest flaw.

Is this for real? How do they get advertisers for this? Why did I even watch? At least beauty pageants only happen once a year but rolling out this garbage on a weekly basis is indictable. I feel sorry that Jesse Palmer has made a life altering or should I say career ending decision by hosting this. As for the contestants, they are so forgettable that luckily they can probably escape the embarrassment of signing up for this. I once imagined a world where instead of being imprisoned for a crime people awere made to play idiots on reality tv for the benefit of other people's perverse entertainment and ridicule. This show is that reality. Schadenfreude at its best.

This show is absolutely awful. I can't believe I wasted the time to even watch. It made me sick to see how much they cheapened and degraded something that's supposed to be special, sweet and amazing. I hope this gets cancelled. ABC, you've stooped to low, low levels. You must be desperate to put this kind of garbage out.
