Boobirt Stylish but barely mediocre overall
    Comwayon A Disappointing Continuation
Ketrivie It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.
Stephanie There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes
Samrat Mitra Shetland is just a ferry away from Aberdeen, where I had worked briefly for a period of time which is partly why I adore this television series. However, on it's own Shetland has had some incredibly complicated plots and the central characters to the plot are the ones you can identify with and care for as they try to bring a logical end to every case with good old school police work. I am a fan of Douglas Henshall as he plays DI Perez so convincingly and with an amazing depth that does at times compare with the best characters I have ever seen on TV or Film. Frankly, I cannot remember a single bad episode of Shetland unlike so many other TV series which are not quite as good throughout. Highly recommended for attentive TV viewing.
amyovertonuk Love this programme, the actors and the scenery are brilliant!
stevesmith-80860 After watching all the seasons, I thought season 3 and season 4 were more interesting than the first two seasons. Season 1 and season 2 were more of a procedural drama, each case would last 2 episodes. For season 3 and 4 each season only featured one case, I much preferred this format. Also season 1 and 2 felt kind of too PG, I found the cases to be kind of bland or boring, not gritty at all. Season 1 and 2 reminded me of wallander UK, it had that kind of light hearted feel which I was not a fan of. Season 1 and 2 was watchable but, it wasn't gripping or keeping me interested the entire time. Season 3 and 4 is much better. The cases are more gritty and dark and overall much more interesting, more suspense and intrigue. Also the format of 1 case for each season made the show a lot better. Season 1 and 2 I would rate 6.75/10 and season 3 and 4 7.75/10.
csilvaas Found the series while browsing on Netflix. After seeing all 4 seasons, doubtful there will be a 5th. That would be disappointing. Loved the scenery. But, with Tosh leaving (if she does)it would not be the same and hard to replace her. That said, would love to see it continue. Perez finally having a companion again (Ashan?) After awhile, I got used to the Scottish accent, mostly. Also, nice that they featured some big name actors, i.e. Brian Cox.
