CrawlerChunky In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.
Brennan Camacho Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Wyatt There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.
nikkijesser New show is dumb! I didn't like the questions nor the contestants or the host. The host mimics people and is not very smart. Made countless mistakes the whole show. Couldn't even remember anyone's name and kept saying "let's try this again". It was a waste of time to watch.
Ron Maestri "Ron, you are the only one on this planet who could host the remake of "Match Game" and actually make it work. You are SO funny. Are you sure you're not really Gene Rayburn? Am I on Candid Camera?"I don't think he was too far off. When I heard Gene once say he had built a roller skating rink in his house, I just laughed. I had a 12' round x 3' deep swimming pool in my 4th floor artists' loft in downtown Los Angeles. The trampoline was too expensive.I knew Ira Skutch. My best friend at the time, Leslie Price, now Leslie DeMoraes was an assistant contestant coordinator for Goodson-Todman, insisting I meet Ira Skutch, who I interviewed with personally. That, and I watched every episode of "Match Game '73 forward, and can recall any of it. "Cuckoo blank""Fran and Ollie"Hysterical. Gene's reaction would have been mine. It's uncanny. Then years later I met Charles when I helped Richard Reid develop "Sweethearts". Charles' response to me while we were taking a break shocked the living daylights out of me, but surprised me none. You see, I put on game shows in my bedroom for all the neighborhood kids and "Match Game" was our resounding favorite. I was all of 13 when the show debuted. I even wrote Goodson-Todman with the idea for "Children's Match Game". It was only when I met Ira Skutch that he confided in me they loved the idea, but didn't want to dilute "Match Game" It did however spark them to do "Child's Play" starring Bill Cullen some time later. Maybe those royalty checks I should've received will pay off someday when I can host the remake of "Match Game". All I ask is for the audition and let the powers that be decide, and no, I don't do impersonations. I'm always just me.www.ronS.ROCKS
ShelbyTMItchell You can remake any version of this classic. But the 70s...IS THE BEST ONE! As a panel of six celebrities mainly the late Charles Nelson Reiley, Brett Sommers, and the still alive Richard Dawson. Fill in a one word blank read by the late and great host Gene Rayburn. The contestants had to guess and match it up with them. It is mainly matching wits and charm between the contestants and the players. But the real stars are the panel. As they were the comic reliefs along with Rayburn. Who was cool, calm, and collective when they get zany. The contestants were there to play the "straight man" really. While having fun with it.The show you can say "jump the shark" when Richard Dawson left to devote himself full time to "Family Feud" and had that star wheel thing in which everybody picked him before the star wheel as contestants won money by matching him. Big and huge mistake. But still the 70s Match Game had lots of wit and charm. And great chemistry among the host and panelists.
Seth Nelson One night, I was flipping the channels when I had come upon this beauty on a little known station known as "The Game Show Network" - reruns of this show: "Match Game 73, 74, 75, 76, 77, and beyond!!!!!" LOL The host is Gene Rayburn, who liked to wear his suits, plaid or plain!!!!! Some of the most well known celebrities to play along are Brett Somers, and my favorite: Richard Dawson, who would later on host the other CBS game show "Family Feud!!!!!"Anyways, there are two contestants, preferably from Southern California, who make a selection of one of two cards in two rounds. The questions are often funny; since this was 70s TV, this pushed the envelope at the time. When we always get to those "blanks," it's funny!!!!! I also like how female contestants kiss Richard if the $500 Supermatch question is correct. This is also a wonderful game to play at home or at a party; it's fun AND good for your brain!!!!! (I try to watch this every weekday night, BTW.)I was also surprised at how this came to be the best game show of all time by GSN, thanks to the "50 Greatest Game Shows of All Time." I just happened to find this show; I ended up liking it ala "Wheel of Fortune," and I wouldn't think I have just found the best game show ever!!!!! Yes, people, I have seen the light...from my television screen."Match Game" is the best show ever!!!!! Watch it nightly; certainly no "Disney Channel Originals" garbage here!!!!!10/10
