A Disappointing Continuation
Melanie Bouvet
The movie's not perfect, but it sticks the landing of its message. It was engaging - thrilling at times - and I personally thought it was a great time.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

Imagine you're a person who live by your own principle: committed to your family and work, you're forced to run a trial despite the lack of sufficient evidence (because you're not in the highest rank), that will be "Janet King" season 1 In season 2, you've been through a devastating lost, still working through your very own PTSD, then again you're offered to run an investigation by someone higher rank than you but somewhere along the line, you have no say in certain very important matter. Also you're being accused for something you have not done......how will you proceed? This TV series help me get through a lot of difficult times and I'm every grateful this TV series ever exist.

This show is amazing! It's great writing, great characters, great directing and great acting. And in a world where Hollywood spew out a lot of "standardized" TV shows, I love how refreshingly non-Hollywood this show is. I watched Crownies before starting on Janet King. I like both shows, but prefer the latter. Crownies was fun, but Janet King is a lot darker than Crownies. It has more conflicts and more dept, something I personally appreciate. I'm also a huge fan of the title character and of Marta Dusseldorp. You definitely end up rooting for Janet, she's awesome and a total bad-ass. There are a lot of conflicts, and a lot of strain on the main character. And Marta Dusseldorp portrays every feeling perfectly. You can see what she thinks, what she feels, and she's so darn likable :-) A reason why I always end up emotionally invested. I'm very much hooked on this show! I think a lot of people would be if they started watching.

We found this series on Acorn and looked forward to viewing it mainly because of Marta Dusseldorp whom we enjoyed in A Place to Call Home. What a disappointment! From the pushy, leftist attempts to normalize her abnormal homelife to the amateurish plots this show stretches credulity and is unwatchable. We found none of the characters likable and the whole premise rather juvenile and silly. One episode was about all we could take. Poor Marta, from a great role in A Place to Call Home to this nonsense! We have become fans of both British and Australian TV series over the years and have enjoyed many of them but recent attempts by creators and producers towards agenda-driven characters and plots is causing us to re-evaluate our viewing habits. This series is, bottom-line, unwatchable.

I commenced to watch this program with great expectations based on the promotion on the ABC television channel. How the ABC promotions can claim glowing approval from critics when it hasn't been screened is somewhat problematic.Having now watch two episodes I was particularly disappointed with the biased feminist left leaning lesbian relationship, the contrived relationship between prosecutors and police, the shallow stereotypical good guy bad guy characters and the sharp feminist anti anti male diatribe in the office. Overall it has what what appeared to me to be a second rate shallow plot full of stereotypes with very little in the way of redeeming features. There is a strong underlying feminist anti male thread running through this and the bulk of the acting is unconvincing. I will be surprised if as this series (which is a spin-off from the low rating series "Crownies" ) has any greater success despite the hype and hyperbola from the ABC.Compared to other ABC series such as the Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries and Dr Blake which are outstanding drama series this is but poor shadow. Altogether a most unenlightening experience.
